FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are poised to officially unveil Zambian coach Wedson Nyirenda as their new head coach on a two-year contract, sources have told The ZamFoot Crew.
The 59-year-old tactician arrived in Malawi on Tuesday accompanied by two assistant coaches, who are expected to form part of his backroom staff at the Blantyre-based club.
Nyirenda is set to begin work immediately and is expected to meet the players ahead of Bullets’ upcoming Airtel Top 8 quarter-final fixture against Ekhaya FC.
The appointment marks a new chapter for one of Malawi’s most decorated clubs as they turn to the experienced Zambian to lead their domestic and continental ambitions.
Nyirenda brings a wealth of coaching experience to the role, having previously managed some of Southern Africa’s most prominent clubs, including Zanaco, ZESCO United and South African side Baroka FC. He also enjoyed a spell in charge of the Zambia national team, guiding the Chipolopolo in international competition.
Widely regarded as one of Zambia’s most accomplished coaches, Nyirenda has built a reputation for developing competitive teams and achieving success at both club and international level.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, popularly known as “Maule” (The Bullets), are the most successful club in Malawian football history. Based in Blantyre, the club has won a record 17 TNM Super League titles and plays its home matches at Kamuzu Stadium.
An official announcement from the club is expected in the coming days.
