Daka and Leicester shift focus to UEFA Conference League

Zambian striker Patson Daka and his Leicester City teammates have turned their focus to Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League Quarter-Final second leg tie at PSV Eindhoven.

The Foxes are fresh from a hard fought 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on the weekend.

Rangers boss, Brendan Rogers confirmed that striker Jamie Vardy, goalkeeper Danny Ward and defender Ryan Bertrand remain out with knee injuries.

The Zambian international put in a 76 minute shift at King Power Stadium and will be looking to help the Foxes to would be the Club’s first-ever European semi-final.

In Europe, Daka has found his stride netting six goals in nine European competition games.

It was on a European night that Daka made his mark becoming the first Zambian player to score a hat-trick in a major European competition for any club after scoring four goals against Spartak Moscow.

With four goals in the encounter, Daka became the first Leicester player to score a hat-trick in European competition and the first player to score four goals in a single match for the club in any competition since Derek Hines (vs. Aston Villa in November 1958).

Its not clear whether Rogers will start with Daka upfront at the Philips Stadion on Thursday night or his Nigerian mate, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Following a goalless stalemate in Leicester last week, the two-legged tie is finely poised ahead of what promises to be a thrilling final chapter in Eindhoven.

Kick off in Eindhoven is set at 18:45 Central African time.
