The Zambia U-17 Women’s national team will this afternoon look to clinch gold at the ongoing Region V Games when they lock horns with Botswana in the final of the U-17 Women’s COSAFA championship.
The Copper Princesses sealed their place in the final of this year’s tournament with a 3-1 win over Botswana and a 2-0 win over Namibia.
The Girls tournament only has three teams after several countries withdrew due to the Coronavirus epidemic and the emergency of a new variant, Omicron.
Kaluba Kangwa’s lasses head into the match as favorites having beaten Botswana in their opening game but will know that it won’t be easy.
The Copper Princesses come into the match fresh having had over 24 hours of rest while Botswana were in action a few hours ago.
Luty Kamanga returns to the starting line up in place of Roydah Ng’andu as Kaluba Kangwa makes just one change to the team.
Jessy Zulu, Blessings Zulu and Lucy Kajiya lead the attack with Gracious Tailoshi and Lubasi Pumulo partnering in midfield.
Chitete Musanka will be between the sticks with Esther Musialela, Theresa Musatila, Monica Mutisa and Mutinta Hatembo making up the back four.
The match will kick off at 17:00hrs at the Setsoto Stadium and will be live on Supersport Variety 2, ZNBC TV3 on Topstar and COSAFA.tv.
