The Copper Queens have arrived in South Africa ahead of Wednesday’s Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia.
Zambia faces Namibia on Wednesday in the final round first leg qualifier which will be played at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
China based duo of Xiomara Mapepa and Ireen Lungu are among the players who have jetted into South Africa alongside locally based players.
The Copper Queens will be without reigning CAF Women’s Footballer of the year Barbra Banda who is nursing a hip injury which has seen her miss majority of Orlando Prides’ matches in the National Women’s Super League.
USA based trio of Grace Chanda, Prisca Chilufya and Rachel Kundananji are expected to be the last to join camp.
Zambia will be away to Namibia on October 22 in South Africa at the Dobsonville Stadium before hosting the Brave Gladiators on October 26 in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The two sides will square off in a back-to-back duel with the winner booking a ticket to the WAFCON.
The top four teams at the WAFCON will qualify to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
