Green Eagles boss has set his sight on winning the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup. Chiyangi is, however, looking to take the tournament one step at a time.
Chiyangi first wants his side to pass their first hurdle of qualifying to the quarterfinals.
“The object when you play in a tournament is to win the tournament but you have to move step by step. First, our object as at now is to qualify to the next round,” he said.

“The goalkeeper (Sebastian Mwange) I think he has done well although he did not have a lot to do. The striker (Tapson Kaseba) did well because he did what we wanted him to do.”
Next on the cards for Eagles is Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club (A.P.R.). Chiyangi is aware of the threat APR pose but he wants his team to win and secure a quarter-final slot.
“APR is one of the strongest teams here in Rwanda and we will plan for them because we know if we beat them we are through to the next round. They play after us so we will watch them and get an insight into how they play,” he said.
Eagles opened their CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign with a two nil win over Heegan FC of Somalia. Spencer Sautu and Kennedy Musonda scored the goals for the Choma based side.
Eagles and APR will square off on Monday at 15:30. Should Eagles win they will progress to the quarterfinals.
