Chansa, Katebe named in Zanaco CAF squad

Zanaco have named a strong squad for the CAF Confederation Cup which includes 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner Isaac Chansa.

Zanaco who have been busy on the local scene re-enforcing the squad have also named Aaron Katebe formerly of Moroccan side Maghreb FC and Platinum of Zimbabwe amongst the new signings at Sunset Stadium.

Katebe is expected to be at the heart of the Zanaco defense in their campaign in Africa after the club splashed K80,000.00 to sign the player on a three year deal.

Katebe is expected to partner George Chilufya while another new signing Derick Mwansa will slot in at right back.

Other new signings for the 2015 league league runners up are; Gift Sakuwaha, Richard Kasonde, Logic Chingadu, Fashion Sakala and Saith Sakala.

Zanaco have been given a bye to the first round where will face the winner of the preliminary round tie between Harare City of Zimbabwe and AS Adema of Madagascar.

Zanaco will play the first leg away during the weekend of 11th to 13th March. The second leg is scheduled for the weekend of 18th to 20th March.

  1. Katebe is most likely to become Zanaco’s first choice left back because Ziyo and George will still remain the first choice centre backs at Zanaco.

  2. Katebe at ZANACO! That is your end my bro. There is no ambition at that club, players there think they have arrived by Zambian standards!

  3. The problem at Zanaco is that players get finished easily, maybe it is because of money and lifestyle. Just look at Rodrick Kabwe, he was very upcoming when he played for Kabwe Warriors but he game has declined since then.They have a very good Young team that can go all the way though.
