The Zambia national soccer team will play either defending Champions Morocco or Rwanda should they make it out of Group D.
Morocco were in uncompromising mood on Tuesday evening when they trounced Uganda 5 – 2 in the final group game to top Group C. Soufiane Rahim scored a brace in the game as the Atlas Lions marched on to on a quest to retain their title.
Morocco conclude the group stage with seven points.
In the other group match, Rwanda twice came from behind to beat Togo 3 – 2 in a hard fought win. Togo took the lead in the 38th minute through skipper Yendoutie Nane. Rwanda struck back through Olivier Niyonzima from a well taken free kick just before the half time.
Bilal Akoro restored the lead before the Amavubi struck twice through skipper Jacques Tuyisenge in the 60th minute and they took the lead six minutes later through Ernest Sugira who made it 3 – 2.
The victory saw the Wasps leapfrog Togo to go second on five points.
Morocco and Rwanda will know their opponents tomorrow after the final group D matches which see second placed Zambia play Namibia while group leaders Guinea will play Tanzania.
Morocco will play the team that will emerge second while Rwanda will play the Group D table toppers.



A must win match for Zambia. They should avoid conceding silly goals this will cost us.

I remember in South AFCON 1996, many Zambians were afraid to meet Egypt but alas we met them in the quarter-finals the results Zambia 3 Egypt 1. I remember so vividly in that game Egypt scored first and Zambia came from behind scoring 3 goals. Please let us stop fearing the Arabs let us go and play the game we will win!
