It was CFFA who struck first as Herisoa Santatra Andriamamonjy put the visitors in the lead after 17 minutes. Kabwe Warriors quickly responded leveling matters just 12 minutes later through Prince Mumba, A brilliant header from a Harrison Mwendwa cross to make it 1-1.

CFFA held on to win the match, 2-1, and dump out Kabwe Warriors from the Competition in the first preliminary round.

Head Coach Manfred Chabinga attributed his teams’ loss at the hands of CFFA of Madagascar to failure to convert chances. Chabinga rued misses chances in the match.

“In football, you have to score goals. We created a lot of opportunities which we couldn’t utilize,” Chabinga said.

“At one point I saw we were losing the tactical shape. Tactical discipline was also lacking.”

  1. Can’t beat teams from eswatini n teams from Madagascar Zambia is no longer a powerhouse thank you kamanga for destroying Zambian football .i always said a foreign quota wont help zambia has good players but no philosophy all play chipante chipante..kick n run like headless chickens.. foreigners will teach what Zambian players need to do to improve bring foreign coaches and foreign player to improve otherwise say goodbye to every dream that you had

  2. The common problem with Zambian continental representatives is simple! The teams are not adequately prepared. The season is just beginning all the four teams have not played any competitive football. The charity shield should be the season opener for the four representatives by playing the Cup as a round Robin tournament. By the time they engage in caf games they would have played at least four games b4 the league starts. History will bear me witness; nkana at their peak were almost eliminated by a small team whom they drew 2 all at Chilata and after a few league games won away 4 goals to nil. Nchanga rangers drew at home 1 all, also at the beginning of the league, after putting in 2 local league games they won away 5 goals to 1. Check stats u will agree with my point. Let’s seriously consider turning the Charity shield to competitive 4 team round Robin tourney. Kamanga cannot be blamed for failure by the clubs such as Zesco, warriors etc. The clubs should bear the blunt of failure. Coaching is a big joke on the local front. Instead of sub standard player imports, bring in quality coaches to improve standards.

From the grassroots to the highest level, Zambia need qualified coaches. Most of these coaches have CAF C qualifications and it’s reflected on the games played
