Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) on Friday launched their step-up project which is aimed at helping alleviate some of the problems the community is facing.
The idea is to get the clubs’ former players and others to step up take responsibility and start community service especially now that the world is plagued by the deadly CoronaVirus epidemic.
Fred Kangwa, who is the director at BUSA confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew that the project is ongoing and the club plans on introducing a literacy program.
“We sat down as a club and saw the effects that COVID-19 has had on our players and member of the community saw it fit that we give an extra hand where we can even if it is little. We are calling this step up,” he said.

“it’s ongoing and we soon we plan on starting a feeding program and after that introduce sports for a good online tool that will focus on literacy for our players and those from other teams in the community,” he added.
Following the launch, BUSA distributed food hampers to the old aged, people with disabilities, and their players to cushion the effects of the Coronavirus epidemic.
Club Chief Executive Officer and head coach Kaluba Kangwa emphasized the importance of helping the less fortunate in the community and involving more partners to make sure the project is a success.
BUSA legends and Copper Queens star players in Captain Barbara Banda and Midfielder Mary Mwakapila were in attendance at the event and both highlighted the importance of discipline for young players who want to succeed and follow their path.
