The Zambia Women’s National Team have started shaping up for their last home match before their maiden appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Copper Queens will face their Tanzanian counterparts on Sunday, June 11th at Woodlands Stadium in a send-off match.
Coach Bruce Mwape and his technical bench took the players through their paces on Tuesday afternoon at Lusaka’s Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Majority of the foreign based talent is already in camp with only Kazakhstan based trio of Irene ‘Xavi’ Lungu, Martha Tembo and Hellen Chanda expected to join camp today.
The Copper Queens have not played a match at home since their 1-1 draw International friendly match against Botswana’s Mares at Nkoloma Stadium on 2nd May, 2022.
Tickets have already gone on sale at Web Ticket in North-Mead at Omega Mall pegged at K20 general admission and K100 VIP.
At the World Cup, Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.
On July 22, the 2022 WAFCON bronze medalists will step onto the global stage for the first time, facing off against the formidable team from Japan.
Four days later, they will take on Spain, followed by a clash with Costa Rica on July 31.
