Kings Kangwa has been named the 2025/26 Israeli Premier League Most Valuable Player after a standout campaign with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Chipolopolo midfielder beat competition from Yarden Shua and Omer Atzili of Beitar Jerusalem, as well as Dor Peretz of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Kangwa secured 54% of the overall vote, finishing comfortably ahead of Shua on 37%, while Atzili and Peretz received 5% and 4% respectively.
The final result combined votes from a five-member expert panel, which accounted for 45% of the total, together with fan voting conducted via Instagram and the leagueās official website, which contributed the remaining 55%.
The 27-year-old has produced one of the best seasons of his career, recording 21 goal contributions in the league with 12 goals and nine assists.
Kangwa has featured for 2,755 league minutes this season and has been directly involved in 26% of Beāer Shevaās league goals.
His influence in the final third has been among the strongest in the division. The Zambia international has created 78 scoring chances ā the second-highest total in the league ā including 16 big chances, while his 52 successful dribbles are the most of any player in the competition.
He has also excelled in transition play, scoring seven goals within 13 seconds of his side regaining possession, the highest figure in the league, while maintaining an impressive passing accuracy of 87.8%.
Kangwaās form has been central to Beāer Shevaās pursuit of a domestic double, with the club having already sealed the league title and preparing to face Maccabi Tel Aviv in the State Cup final.
