Kafue Celtic have announced the launch of the inaugural Rising Stars U17 International Tournament, set to take place from 5–7 June 2026 at Crocs Swamp Ground in Chamba Valley, Lusaka.
The youth tournament will mark a major milestone for the club, which will host international competition for the first time as part of its growing investment in youth football development.
In a statement released by Communications Officer Esther Mwale, the club described the event as “a historic moment” for Kafue Celtic.
“The tournament marks a historic moment for the club as Kafue Celtic hosts international competition for the very first time, reinforcing the club’s commitment to youth football development and regional sporting collaboration,” the statement read.
The three-day tournament will feature youth sides from Zambia, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, bringing together some of the region’s most promising young football talent.
“The tournament will feature elite U17 sides from across Southern and Central Africa, bringing together talented young players in a highly competitive and developmental environment,” the statement added.
Confirmed participants include hosts Kafue Celtic U17, a Zambia U17 Select Team, Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets U17 side, Ascent Soccer U17 and Académie les Aigles du Congo U17 from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The tournament is expected to provide young players with valuable international exposure while strengthening regional football ties across Southern and Central Africa.
