Zesco United moved into second position of the MTN FAZ super league table after beating troubled Napsa Stars 2 – 0 in Lusaka.
Kenyan international Jesse Were scored a brace for Zesco on either side of the half to send the champions to 12 points 4 behind leaders Nkana FC.
With three games in hand, Zesco are ahead on Nakambala Leopards on goal difference.
The loss condemns Napsa to the bottom of the log.
Last year’s runners up Zanaco also bounced back from CAF Confederations Cup misery with a 4 – 0 emphatic win over Lusaka Dynamos.
Charles Zulu, Isaac Chansa and a brace from Fashion Sakala were enough to ensure that Zanaco move into fifth position with 4 games in hand.
The heavy defeat for Lusaka Dynamos sees them drop into the relegation zone.

At the beginning of the season Lusaka Dynamos made a few critical mistakes. First they took the captaincy from Habasimbi. Next they relegated him to the bench. And then armband did not go to the best and most obvious choice (Sydney Kalume). After doing this, Lusaka Dynamos decided to do away with team spirit. How? Everybody knows Luchanga is a wonderful player but by bringing him back from power in the manner they did, LD made him bigger than the team. This didn’t sit too well with the other players. Which is why Luchanga only receives the ball in hopeless situations. This is also why every other guy in the team thinks he’s Abedi Pele. Not to name names but that guy who wears Kalusha Bwalya’s number can make you tear your hair out.
Lusaka Dynamos management was not satisfied with the disfunction they had crested. In their infinite wisdom they decided to demote the guy who had carried them through 2015 with stunning football and results. They made him assistant to… I can’t even remember his name. Bottom line, LD have a lot of soul searching to do if they wish to survive the season.
@Vunga I said it the moment relegated Perry mutapa to the role of assistant that they had errored. Perry & masauso spent the entire preseason drilling the team & the results showed in the first 2 games after that it was a downward spiral!
@vunga,i totally agree with you!!lusaka dynamos are living dangerously.
Habasimbi captained the side against GBFC on Saturday. Perry has still been Head Coach, as Ronald Chinku in his “wisdom” decided to walk past the dreaded fly over bridge near Zesco HQ and imimbulu feasted on him. Now they’ve brought a highly qualified (UEFA A and Masters in Sports) circa 20yr old coach called Michael added to the bench. You wonder what is happening.
A 20 yr old boy for a coach? One wonders what is really happening to Zambian football administrators.Lusaka Dynamos and Mufulira fc must put their houses in order before they book their trips back to the lower division.ABASH USELESS,GREEDY AND GOOD FOR NOTHING FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATORS.
