Zesco United are the 2014 MTN FAZ Super League champions after they beat Kabwe Warriors 3 – 1 at home to overtake erstwhile leaders Zanaco who succumbed to a humiliating 4 – 0 away to Red Arrows.
The 4 – 0 drubbing at the hands of the airmen relegated Zanaco to 3rd position after Power Dynamos also leap frogged them to finish second after beating Nakambala Leopards 1 – 0 at home to secure the second and final CAF position on the log.
Zesco coach will have to thank veteran Winstone Kalengo for a brace and Simon Silwimba who scored the third in what turned out to be the former Red Arrows mentor’s first league title a year after being fired at Red Arrows.
Josephat Kasusu scored the consolation for division one bound Kabwe Warriors.
His former team Arrows however did him a favor as they stopped Zanaco through goals from international Bruce Musakanya, Stanley Nshimbi, Francis Kombe and U20 international Patrick Ngoma.
Arrows who had to win to secure their stay in the top flight started the match brightly as Zanaco struggled with the creativity of Evans Musonda who was later replaced by Stanley Nshimbi after an injury.
Nshimbi proved to be the difference on the day as his pace together with Musakanya and Ngoma was more than Zanaco could contend with all the three deservedly registered their names on the score sheet with Nshimbi and Ngoma accounting for an assist each.
Green Buffaloes who started the day in the relegation zone dug themselves out of trouble with a resounding 3 – 0 win over Indeni to condemn Kabwe Warriors to division one.

Congrats Zesco! Zanaco you can’t win the league with that pathetic casual approach in a decisive match against Arrow.you embarrassed you coach who had early on in the week prophesed that your 1 leg is already in CAF competition.Hardluck ! Try next time
As for Zesco and Power you are the bearers of the country,s flag prepare adequately and emulate the 2013 champions NKana who reached the Caf league stage. To be eliminated in 1st or 2nd is vy embarrassing.Thump up for Zesco and Power.
Congrats zescolo team ya ziko
Great job Arrows and Buffaloes. We still need u in the Top league. Prepare adequately for the next season.
“Fi Buffaloes zoona”! Fighting relegation? What has happened? We need a new coach, seriously.
Honour Janza. …listen to me….Bronson Chama should replace Chris Munthali in the National
Team with immediate effect….no jokers going to Afcon. ..
In other news guys when did William Njovu join Red Arrows?? how long has he been playing there ….
Congrats Zesco. …shame for my team Power…to many useless draws …next season Tenant should
do less talking with more results
now please prepare well for CAF competition we want both teams in the the group stages…
Zamfoot, you should show us the league Table both for APL and Division 1 north and South.
Meant to say… ZPL.. and not APL.
losing is one thing. losing 4-0 is a different story. Someone should investigate Zanaco and Arrows.
Kabwe warriors am so sad ZAMFOOT we are waiting for the Zambia cape Vad player ratings
Aggrey Chiyengi isn’t a coach that can take any team into champions. He destroyed our under 17. True Champions come from Copala congrats Zescolo…
@Chindika popeye! When did u start watching football? Don’t u know that the whole of Aggrey Chiyangi’s playing career and part of coaching was on the copperbelt! He just went to Lusaka for work.
It will be very difficult for Zesco and Power to reach the group stage: Zesco are short of quality strikers as are Power. Nkana had a sharp frontline that was scoring goals for fun; their only problem was a porous defence and having watched Donashano Malama and Christopher Munthali play for Chipolopolo we know why. Power also need to invest in a goalkeeper, even a foreign one because Zambia has no quality goalkeepers.
lets use afcon 2015 to prepare for 2017. exposing the young ones so that they gain the needed experience. that’s my thoughts
Congratulations Zesco and Dynamos.
Z.F we need a top scorers list. which keeper kept the most clean sheets? etc.
I think this is the best time to bring in Stephen Keshi since Nigeria has failed to qualify. The man has a proven track record and am sure he can do wonders for Zambia plus he is a master tactician. I like Janza as a fellow Zambian but i think the CHIPOLOPOLO job has been too big for him, he needs to be coaching the under 23 or something to up his tactics.
Ba Morgy naimwe, ikalenifye. Who is Keshi? He will just bring in confusion. We don’t want him. We want our very own Honour Janza. Just form your own team and employ Keshi as coach.
Janza will be a disaster just like Patrick Phiri no doubt. Let continue and Zed will be kicked out in the group stage. How can a normal human being bench Chisamba Lungu? Does’t that send ringing bells in your ears
Janza is a crap coach end of the story
BA justice lufunga o whatever you call youself behave youself. A good coach changes a game, its better to start the game poor & finish it strong.if U want a new coach go ,& form U own tearm.
Yes,seriously we need a better coach who can read a game&beat a strong team.Teams at AFCON,are very strong
Form your own team and employ that better coach.
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi urged to ‘walk away’
By Oluwashina Okeleji BBC Sport, Lagos
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has been urged not to try to stay in the job after failing to qualify the team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Keshi is currently without a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
And a top NFF official told BBC Sport: “Walking away honourably would be the smartest thing for Stephen Keshi.
“It’s pointless to hang around when you’ve failed, have been completely rejected by the NFF and are unwanted by disappointed football fans.”
Keshi endured a turbulent time during the qualification campaign, in which he was sacked by the NFF and only reinstalled after intervention from Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan.
And the intensity of speculation about his future increased following Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with South Africa in Uyo last week that meant they will not play at next year’s continental finals in Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria had gone into the that match knowing a win would earned their place at the tournament, their failure to do so has left NFF president Amaju Pinnick refusing to name who he believes is “the ideal man to lead the team from the present dark to sunshine”.
Keshi himself has refused to comment on whether it is the end of his time as coach with the team he steered to Nations Cup glory in 2013 and led to the last-16 of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
But the NFF official added: “He does not have any contractual obligations with the federation; remember the board also offered to sponsor him and his assistants to managerial courses with good intention.
“He will probably get a job elsewhere before January but the country will not get the opportunity to play at the next Nations Cup.”
Last season nkana, this season zesco united and this coming seasom is 4 power dynamo.kapala bola swag epulongulamu# Teyaba- x y zanaco iyo.
These guys are behaving as if it is KESHI’s fault that they failed to qualify. I dont know what is with the Nigerians. I think their administrative scandals have cost them the AFCON slot and its not KESHI’s fault, are the poverty levels too much such that people can do anything just to hold on to football administrative positions. Nigerian football administrators are too selfish, they should be putting the interest of the nation first and not their own. These are some of the lessons that Kalu and the group should be learning from…..the effects of a disorganized association are seen on the pitch. I think KESHI is an exceptional coach who has a reputation of turning average players into world class players…look at Togo 2006, Nigeria 2013, and imagine what he can do with the talented Zambian squad, all these mediocre players such as Munthali and Donashano Malama will be world class defenders with Keshi, the man knows how to build the confidence of average players. And please Nigerians give Keshi some credit the man has given his all for the country, and in my opinion he deserves great respect, which one of u folks can go 6 months without getting paid, cos the same thing happened here with patrice and the boy ran away….so Keshi has worked under extreme conditions, am sure if he was a foreign coach he would have been treated differently. Mr Keshi i salute you for your great contribution to African soccer, i hope Janza can follow in your footsteps.
“All these mediocre players such as Munthali and Donashano Malama will be world class defenders with Keshi”.
Some of the comments on this blog never cease to amaze me. Keshi, Keshi, Keshi; You want to go and get a reject. Just form your own team and employ Keshi as coach. Just leave our beloved Chipolopolo Boys to our very own Honour Janza. Why do you want to bring confusion in the team when the AFCON is only less than two months away? Smxhm!!
@Morgy in the measn time better Janza than any other coach. The best you can do is give constructive advise on where we are failing or where Janza is failing. Janza’s record so far is not all that bad, let us give him chance. I also advocated for Keshi but not now becoz time is not our side to make such changes on the technical bench. We remain positive that the team shall improve and do wonders at AFCON. So sad for Warriors, fight hard and come back, your roddy supporters have not done you any good during the last round of the league. Big welcome to Mufulira Wanderers, Lusaka Dynamoes and Nkwazi this is where you belong.
Bravo Brave Nchanga. If we need a new coach, he can be hired after the afcon 2015, with a long term view of qualifying the team to afcon 2017 and world cup 2018. For now we should let Honour continue.
@Brave Nchanga Rangers point taken, @Billy am not against Janza but i just think tactically he’s not up to scratch. To me Keshi is the best coach in Africa who can do a great job with the CHIPOLOPOLO, i just wanted to hear your views as my fellow Zambians, and from what u guys have said i have taken the point that it might be too late to bring in a coach which am not disputing. Thanks for your contributions guys.
Janza is equal to failure, if I were him I would resign on my own. Okay he wants to please his st.pid boss takwaba
Can Chansa or Janza explain why Evans did not partner Sate Sate in the home game? Why was Chisamba on the bench as well as Musonda. Janza is a useless coach, we wont win win any games at AFCON with him as coach. Why cause Kalu pulls the strings and chi Janza is a yes bwana
@ba justice lufungu or whatever you call youself behave youself.A gud coach changes a game, its better 2 start a game in poor state & finish it strong than 2 start a game with gud performance &U lose it at last.give credit where its due, chanza is improveing day by day.leaders ar made.
We need to prepare adequtely. Nkausu should replace malama at the right back
Janza needs to listen to me …Doughnut Malama is not National Team Material…He is useless at right back…this Kabaso is even better even though he is also a liability
Professor, i totally agree with you on Donashano-such players fibombelofye! William Njovu has been with Arrows since the mid-term break.
Big up Power as i thought you would sneak in considering Zesco’s inconsistency and Zanaco’s tough final match that i’d rightly predicted. Indeed my good pal TC should lessen talking.
I was telling Dinamo yesterday that Ngonga who i believe is even more talented than Sate Sate, but for his hot head like he likes to colour it. We need to introduce Counselors (personal issues) and mentoring (career development) above coaching (day to day performance) that we only do, for our players to be fully developed. Sate Sate i can confirm heeds to couseling very much and it shows with his end result. Power’s game like Arsenal is very predictable and needs to be corrected henceforth.
ba billy. if Zambia perform disastrous at afcon u will be the first to insult janza while for now u r busy criticising him. lets be frank here janza.is not the man to take us to afcon 2015.
well said
@Morgy, thanks brother for your understanding.
@Paradox, I think Janza is fine for now. Janza has done what Renard and Patrice would fail to do. Janza is even able to win away, at least in one of the three away games. Some coaches used to fail to win away at minnows. If you look at Janza he has only lost 1 and drew 2 in competitive matches and won 3. I will criticise Janza where I feel he is lacking, particularly (1) why he starts Musakanya ahead of Lubambo, (2) why he is not starting Chisamba, (3) why he is still playing Malama at right back and not Nkausu, and (5) why he is still playing Munthali in central defence who is not national team material.
Paradox if you think Janza is not the right person , apply to Kalusha and Co. as Chipolopolo coach so you can take the Boys to afcon 2015. Thanks.
@billy. from the look of things u r hired to defend janza on this group. how much r u getting?. ZRA will be interested in yo income. it’s clear that janza cant read the game & tactically poor. we dont want to go thru wat took place with Patrick phiri in 2006.
I hear you, hear, hear, Janza is useless and has no football brains. Technical Director of Zambian football. The dude is useless. Just the way he looks tells the story. Let go back to his country Ghana lol. Black like amalashi is not zed. The man cant think with his head
Ba Justice. This is very disappointing coming from you. I can see these other bloggers saying ifi ifya black like amalasha, butti namwishiba its not cool apa online. These are the sorts of things mulanda nga mule nwa ama pint face to face notti online where things can be taken the wrong way. Lets be fair to Janza. He has actually succeeded in qualifiying Zambia to AFCON, somehting that was not even expected of him. He is also responsible for finally moving us from the 2012 hangover. If not for him, we would still be fielding Chris Katongo. Give him a chance, and besides, his results and Zambias play improved drastically when Labohm joined him as “assistant.”
So you think your really qualifies
Janza
He is useless because he is a controlled coach by the cartels
@Paradox, don’t bring in unnecessary ZRA you moron. Tackle issues as they are. Just tell me you’re an imbeccile, I will stop responding to you.
I love u janzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
@Paradox…The name of the game is you win some, you draw some and lose some. To me HJ is not as bad as you are panting him. Let us support him. A coach who is able to listen to you and me honestly. We cried for Evans Kangwa to be in the team he included him, We requested for Lubambo Musonda he has called him. Now we are calling for the replacement of Munthali & Malama.
I also agree that Red Arrows guy Chama is better than Munthali.
Bloggers does anyone remember phrases we used say like ”Hard luck” when we lost games those days? These days we criticise too much
@one ccommissioner. noted. I will be monitoring yo future comments and as that of billy abt janza. no changing views if janza takes the team to afcon.
Paradox, I dont think we can have a new foreign coach who can do a miracle in just two months before AFCON. Most of the times I also doubt our coach’s selection of players but I love the speed that he has added to our game. For now I think we are stuck with Janza.
So had Zambia lost some games in 2012, how where they going to be champions? Champions win all the games period
Mr Kafusha, I thought Honour Janza is Zambian?!!!
Now its becoming personal and when it comes to such you put your hands up in surrender. We wait and see till games start in EG, but we remain optimistic and positive as always, they call it being patriotic!!!!
When HR was coach he was called a lot names. Why didn’t you label that as personal. I know people hate me on this blog, but the fact is I will tell the truth. Janza is useless and that is that. His appointment was down in bad faith. If he is good enough why was the Dutch guy brought in? Please give me answers to my simple q? He is a useless coach who almost cost Zambia qualification. Kalu can you please remove your Janza?
Patriotic for what? This is one problem we have in Zambia, look at the Gabon disaster team issue? Players died and nobody cared. I wont be patriotic, sorry, I will say what I mean and that is that
Janza according to me is useless. With him we wont win any games. I hope we are drawn with the big teams, such as Tunisia, Cameroon and the likes then we see. I rest my caes
@Paradox, is a very styupidy person. This mathafaka is a very difficult character. @Paradox, stanyoko.
done
The problem We have in Zambia is inertia. We need a quality coach now.The conditions of service for Janza and the German where to qualify Zambia to Afcon. That achieved this is the time to make a decision weather We need them for Afcon proper or not. THE ANSWER IS A BIG NO. Then get a new coach. FAZ is waiting for TIME TO FINISH AND SAY THERE IS NO TIME TO GET A NEW COACH. with JANZA ZAMBIA IS GOING NOWHERE MARK MY WORDS.
Funny that the same Kalusha at one time said there is no Zambian who is qualified to coach the A team . The same mouth goes on and appoints Janza. What does that mean? Is Janza a foreigner?
You better talk to Kalu then, i will never be emotional on such issues. Some of you guys will die of BP. MARK my words Kalu will not remove Janza you will talk talk and talk but nothing will change and you know it down deep your hearts. This will only happen after AFCON but sorry not now. Arm chair critics get into that sit and we shall see what you will do, within a week there will be blunders everywhere. Give constructive ideas and no name calling, how would you feel if you were called useless and clueless and yet you have earned the position or business you are doing?
I just don’t understand what Chisamba Lungu has done not to start, just like Musonda, while other players that are bench warmers at their clubs get the node. Let him do the same at AFCON and you will see. We wont win any games with his way of doing things, and that is my problem
Kalu does not own Zambian football, and we cant just look when things are wrong
Well said Mr Justice Lukanga Kafusha.
Thank you to all those intelligent bloggers that are able to see that Janza is no coach and will bring disaster to Zambia national team. We need Keshi period.
@Paradox, don’t bring in unnecessary ZRA you moron. Tackle issues as they are. Just tell me you’re an imbeccile, I will stop responding to you.
Ati “Intelligent”, please yourself. Thats what you want, having a last word. In life you won’t please anyone.
Billy mwaiche wandi it is not about competing but having a heart for Zambian football. Mind you some of us had to wait for 48 years before Zambia won AFCON, I am 50 now and I can see you waiting for years with a coach like Janza who in Kalu’s talk is not qualify to a coach the A team. How much is Janza getting? Kalu was getting 8,000 Dollars for nothing when he was FAZ Vice and Coach, that is how selfish the man is. Kalu thinks he Zambian football, no, no brother, Zambian football is not PF, twakan
And what do mean? Tell us
intelligence is for sku boys while wisdom is for real men.keshi has failed to qualify the eagles why shud he come here? janza is ok
If Kalu thinks it is a prerogative to hold Zambian football to ransom, then we are not on the same page, nakana, support him if you want, but some of us who are tested men will pass on our bravery
How does Kalu become a god of Zed soccer. We had players like Ucar Gode (107 goals) Mudala Wandi, Alex Chola, Willie Phiri, Simon Kaodi, Nyembo Mwamba, Damascus Senkwe, Obby Kapita etc and those who died. Kalu mwe Zambians mwali mu tumpika period, and his cadres on this blog can fucking go to hell. For me tapali efyo ali period. Come to Denmark, I work for Maersk Oil and Gas in the IT and I am one of the best if not the best
Kambwili do something before we sebana
I will hit hard on this cause Kalu is controlling Janza and the reason is simple play that one and that one so that we can sell him to Europe and receive kickbacks, that is the way things are
Read between the lines, don’t just comment. Kalu likes himself
Ba kafusha cool it , Don’t take it too personal There are a lot of kids on this blog who are still crawling in terms of Zambian football. They don’t know where We have come from with Zambian football, By the way God willing I will be celebrating 50yrs on xmas, my GOLDEN JUBILEE. I Started watching football in 1973 at BUCHI STADIUM THE HOME OF KITWE UNITED during the days of Happy Malama,
Lets do the right thing now than regret later. if indeed we need local coaches get Lwandamina , Fighton Simukonda and Wedson Nyirenda. not Janza and Chintu, its only in ZAMBIA where an assistant coach team get demoted.
Gentlemen Janza has been getting results, let him finish what he’s doing . The tournament is around the corner and changing the technical staff set up will only spell doom as the players will Hv to adopt to a new playing pattern which they might not perfect in the 2 months remaining.
Let’s just puteni ichimwela n say ‘In Janza we trust’.
which results
we were lucky had Pelembe scored that spot kick haha
We can say the same thing about GYan scoring that penalty in the semi final. We can say the same thing about Uganda scoring the penalty in the 2013 qualifiers. Surely, can you blame the coach?
Sudan …3 – 0 (friendly) Niger 3- 0 ,Moz 0-1 (away ) ,Cap Verdi 1- 0 lost to the 1-2 ,however look at it on aways goal agg.
So not bad n the team is scoring unlike the previous 1 goal projects . Time to rally behind the team folks!
Mayuka plays 13″ in Southampton 1 all draw away to Aston Villa
I like your contributions on this blog man.
Mayuka played for the saints today
Mr John u’re a controversial man but in your own special way u bring out important matters to discuss on. Its been long, any latest on Fwayo? Zamfoot is not updating us. We need you Mr John to give us the latest news on our players.
Honour JANZA for now I have nothing to say ndeloleshafye but am carefully listening to both sides of the debate
I like that Pastor
Let reason prevail you cannot change a coach two months going to an important tournament like AFCON. Am pretty disapointed that well known blogers who have been on this site since it started can sink so low as to name calling, even calling a fellow Zambian a typical Ghanian black in copmlexion, useless and clueless blah blah blah. Even giving addresses of where they work, daring EVERYONE to come and get me!!!!! For God’s sake this is the beautiful game of football and not CIA, FBI or politics. Let us control our tempers. No one is even interested in tracking you down even if you say SATA is a dictator or u insult him in any way. Some of us would like to be sober if Kalu is wrong we shall point it but will not attack him any how without any concrete evidence, whether he wants to sell players abroad, we dont know, those are speculations. There is no evidence to that effect. The best way to remove Kalu is by voting him out at the right time during the FAZ general meeting. In the mean time it Chipolopolo iyeee Chipolopolo iyeee we shall sing again ijn EG.
Well said my brother. Let us just bring out our arguments actually without name calling.
Well said my brother. Opinions/Arguments can be brought out without name calling.
@Brave Ranger, you make sense. Thanks brother.
a gud coach changes a game.football is not about ball position but its about goals.look at south Africa they used to pray gud football but they were not scoring.look at them now they managed to punish Nigerian bcs they av discovered de secret of scoring goals.stop blaming janza but lets give him a chance to prove himself.
Mr bloggers how are you fellows. hoping you are all fine. as things stand we have no time to hire nor fire a couch. but we can only reinforce the technical bench. 1 or 2 can do we ve BA chicken, BA Simukonda and BA Wesson. these can help in some ways. thanx
If reinforcement will include removing that Chintu from the technical bench, then I agree with you. I am still beaten by the criteria used to pick on this fella. Maybe he brings something special and extra ordinary to the team which we do not know of.
Wellcome back IN & OUT Forest and Nkwazi. Congrats Wanderers and L/ Dynamos for bouncing back after a long long time
justice …you are talking nonsense….you need to tone down on your criticism of great Kalu. …The truth is Kalu is recognised as the greatest footballer to come out of Southern Africa…that is why to date he is the only African Footballer of the year from Southern Africa. Please behave don’t let us group you in the same category as lumpens like Kayak Homo and John
lol
I think Zamfoot is responsible for all this, if they give us some news we will have something new to talk about. Ba Zamfoot what is going on. utuma updates kaili.
Iyo kwena justice Lukanga Kafusha you can talk like John .
svhy not
Hello fellow bloggers. Having listened thru, allow me to air my thoughts. 1.Janza’s appointment. The departure of Patrice few weeks before kick off of the qualifiers meant that (a.)We employ someone who knows the players coz the time was short. (b) That someone needed not to only to know the players but have some form of qualifications. Having said that, Janza happened to be Chipolopolo assistant coach when Zambia lifted the trophy in 2012. Not only that, Janza is a caf instructor if not mistaken with CAF A & UEFA B licences and that makes him the most qualified Zambian coach. That aside, its one thing to be an instructor & its another to have hands on practical experience. Much as Janza is the most qualified coach,he is not the most experienced coach. He only helped Zesco get promotion to premier league plus coaching Zambia under 20. Janza worked with players like Donashano, Nyambe & Munthali @ U-20 no wonder he seems to have a preference for them. 2.Janza’s tactics: Every coach has a philosophy and formula that he uses. From my observations, Janza doesn’t seem to have an outright team that can get him results and thats why he has no known starting XI. He has said that we have just seen a quarter of him. One of his great achievements is to reinvert the team by bringing in fresh blood. One mark of a great coach is that of being a tactician.I have not seen much of this in Janza. As a tactician, u know the players that can give you results in a particular game. The following are Zambian players that i believe are game changers:Kalaba, Chisamba, Lubambo, Fyayo & Bruce Musakanya. Of the above, Kalaba,Chisamba & Lubambo seem to be enjoying game time at their respective clubs. The coach should therefore know who to start & who to bring in later to release new life in the game. Our hottest strickers are no doubt Evans Kangwa & Sate Sate. They don’t need many chances for them to score and thats a mark of a good striker. Mbesuma & Mayuka are equally good but their form has not been up to scratch. Given a chance to select ZambiZambia’s current best starting XI id list it like this:1.Mweene 2.Nkausu 3.Mbola 4.Nyambe 5. Sunzu 6.Sinkala 7. Lubambo 8.Chisamba 9.Kangwa /Sate Sate. 10. Singuluma 11.Kalaba.
Good one bro.
Martinez thats a lot of sense, we need such mature debates and inputs
@martinez .well articulated.
Guys all this talk about Janza improving and being better than Renard is rubbish. the man is not capable of this Job pure and simple. You can want your “own” to lead the team but at what expense? to be mediocre and proud of being mediocre just because your own is in charge? you wonder why we are mediocre at best even as a nation, because we are content with being mediocre and letting mediocre individuals lead. Other nations are improving fast and hiring the best to get better but we would rather keep someone who is OBVIOUSLY WAAAY IN OVER HIS HEAD. SMH, Janza will get outwitted and outclassed at AFCON!! Bruce Musakanya is starting ahead of Chisamba Lungu, HOW POSSIBLE IS THAT??? Look at the competitionj these two face every weekend and their skill set, yet one is considered to bring more to the table than the other. How in the wolrd did Janza come up with this idea? can they avail him to the public so we can the questions? Or will he hide behind Kalusha and all who seem content with this sillyness?!! Ati Janza has improved and give him a chance, he is doing better than Renard. We trully have a lot of kids trolling on this site. I would not use Mr kAFUSHA’S language or direct attack but i echo most of his sentiments.
Just because someone is African football player does not prcluded them from scrutiny. You cant hide behind an award especialy when you have glaring shortcomings off the pitch!!!!
This is why Zambia is not ready for a Zambian coach. It is because we do not afford them any respect or patience. Herve Renard had a worse record than Honour Janza, but how many people called for his head? Janza hasn’t even had as much opportunity to get his final team together. This is why people are saying Zambia needs to start preparations now.
Lets give the man a chance. Our focus should not be so short sighted. This young team may not lift the Africa Cup in 2015, but imagine these youngsters 4 years from now. You guys are not seeing that for the first time, we have finally broken the shackles of that 2012 triumph. We were wading in a pool of old players when we needed to move on, and Janza has finally done that. The man also deserves credit for bringing the best out of guys like Mayuka, there was a time Mayuka was pedestrian for Zambia and now he is playing again. Singuluma is also back with a bang, a player who wasn’t even an afetrthought not too long ago.
This coach, has our future in mind. People who are seeking immediate gratification are going to be sorely disappointed.
Ok let me jump in. Zambian coaches should know that when they take the head coach role they are competing against other European coaches and not just their Zambian couter parts. If Janza was European i would be calling for him to go like Bonetti( lets not mention that name). Why because when Janza took the job he made wide changes disrupting what Pb had done when he was on the tenchnical bench, he was playing the young Zulu guy who was not ready, playing Chamaga and Jacob where it was not right. He put us in the desperate situation to qualify, it was the out cry from fans which changed the situation around to play to Zambias strengths- playing Lubambo who was more prepped to play national football and not Zulu who was not prepped at all. What clinches it for me is that even when we played the last games the frailty was there to see. Not enough cohession in attack, poor defensive covering. Those are not good idications to Afcon. That is preparing for failure. Yes we a setting up for the future, but let us setup the right way and give the young team the impetus from a good coach they deserve.
And also Mayuka has never been a passenger for Zambia, he has always worked his socks off. We had allot of problems and people were made scape goats like Chris Katongo, Chris might not be the player he once was but he can still give allot of important experience to the team provided he has the right attitude and that the practical truth but because he is blamed for Zambias recent woes he wont play any role. We must look for the ideal situations.
Surely how can a coach that wins you the ultimate prize in african football after 50 years of trying be worse than a coach who has barely scraped through some qualifiers using 4 different line ups on his way?
Records mean nothing if they dont give you the final result!Renard brought character to our team with players prepared to die for him.The team was solid in defence, midfield and compact. He balanced his team well introducing only new players who were ready for the big stage. Can you explain why Singuluma should play in midfield when he is more effective beside the topman?Janza may be qualified but lacks the intuition to read games properly.Only a rookie coach can play Musakanya over Lubambo Musonda,Donasho over Nkausu, put Chisamba on the bench when he needs a play maker in the midfield. If we want to be contenders for the AFCON,the technical bench need revisiting. On the other hand,if we are content with giving these new kids in the team experience to challenge for the 2017 AFCON then we are on the right track.Otherwise,in both cases,we will need a top notch coach or at least someone who has tactical ability to lead a big team like Zambia.Currently,we are playing like headless chickens with no system at all.
Haha…. a kettle calling the pot black eemmm, some africans are really D*U*M*B!!
FAZ said no Zambian was qualified to coach the Zambian A team. No one forced their leader that statement which was luck of respect for Zambians.
to make
Some bloggers disappoint me on wat basis do u want to sack Janza, personal hatred? Th guy had a goal or goals first qualify zed to afcon 15-achieved,replace old guns wt fresh blood, done, which player has nt he given th chance to prove themselves? U shud think critically before u utter nonsense, pipo who very objective wl see n appreciate where due, almost all cries HJ has heard n made changes bt sorry he is there not to satisfy all yo needs,he hs a job n he is doin it, and for Kalusha who is in th beta position to do beta or even equal his achievements, zed football can be seen world over becoz of his connection, non of us wud manage to watch our local teams bt thanks to him every week zedian football is on Supersport….so wat he ws getting 8000 dollars or more if u r qualified why shud u b paid less? SA have always been crying for KALU… Let’s support n appreciate our own? Who picks a failure(keshi) to success (honour) keshi hs failed to qualify nija n Janza hs managed, target achieved now setting new ones
For th white coach is good, chintu is also good, davies n co th technical bench is fine and heading for greater heights! Look @ real thr is zidane n hiero,@ dutch klievurt,ruud@ England nevile@Man u Giggs so why can’t pipo see th way things are well done n moving in world class direction…….. I feel zed is beta managed now than ever before… Let’s debate objectively ba john, mulenga pulu, stumpy, soccerguru there was that nija guy where is he? U guys we hv come from first days of this site dating over 7 years back
Janza should be sacked before December. He is not a material we want to lead Zambia to the afcon tornament. We where just lucky in Maputo for that penaty save & the credit can not be attributed to Janza but to the goal keeper.
Zambia has never struggled against Moz under any coach apart from Janza.
That is what I term as being brave, thumbs up
Looks like this site has been abandoned by the people who created it…
Zamfoot is on stand by
ba billy. u want to fight with me by calling me names. please lets not go there. I have moved away from aggressive arguements. dont make go bak and jump on u.
@paradox. You are a small boy. I am NOT your size. Keep quiet.
@paradox, you are NOT my size. You’re a small boy, just keep quiet boy.
yavuta nkani. janza must not take the team to afcon. I second ba justice
OK if not janza then who? its not automatic that you bring in keshi or maurinho then we reclaim the trophy NO. we ve no such time its just the reinforcement that can do us good. it just that we the zedians we don’t want to work under someone, but unless am BA boss that s when I can deliver. let’s build with our own. yes janza has no tactical approach to the games but honestly Fax can invite Chicken George, BA Simukonda n Ka Wed akamukamba. If these can work together for the good of the country then AFCON trophy will be destined to Zed again come Jan/Feb. For chintu is mature and humble, and my bro is serious with ama pepo. am sure there could be some element faz and the technical committee see in him and they want to make use of that. thanx.
I second you too. You are one of the few on this site who blogs with sense
Zamfoot pls! Don’t block my posts.y do U het me zamfoot?
Janza, way forward;
Haters please stop talking nonsense about Janza. What do you expect from him? You said Janza wouldn’t qualify us to the 2015 Africa cup but he has proved you wrong. The problem in Africa is that anything black is inferior. I know that he hasn’t got much experience but the question is how do you gain experience if you have never done something. The man deserves a chance in his usual humble capacity. If he fails to deliver yes we shall ask for his heard but for now he seems to have a bright future. The PPE teacher brought the cup yet no one said lets fire him after bringing our first ever Africa cup.
For you own information remember that white coaches are not doing anything that African coaches cannot do. “I am not a racist but that’s just the way it is.” Its sheer sad and utter nonsense that African FAs favour European coaches over African: “You tell a white person they need a year to adapt, to know the country and the players–they are told ‘don’t worry, take your time.’ That is unprofessional and is one thing that is killing African football,” For now I salute Kalusha for taking a board decision in appointing Janza though the manner in which it was done leaves much to be desired.
Janza has EUFA license if am not mistaken. Where did he acquire it? Was it from Zambia? A question for someone on this site to answer especially my comrade Kafusha. “I think it’s just because of our own mentality as Africans that we do not believe in our people.” For how long shall this continue to be stuck in our brains? God help us.
Zambia has had a fair share of expatriate coaches that have not brought any success (take your pick from the itinerant Buga Disease, Paulsen and or sorry I can’t remember others because I was young) . Zambia has never qualified for the World Cup. Foreign coaches had been in charge on most occasions.
Egypt is the most successful football team in the Afcon history; it has won the trophy seven times, mainly with local coaches–take the recent three successive victories (2006, 2008 and 2010) when Hassan Shehata was in charge. When they were coached by an American, Bob Bradley they did not qualify for major international tournaments and the man was later on sacked. Ghana has won the tournament four times, with a local coach guiding the team on all the four occasions. A foreign coach has never won the World Cup for Ghana. Later alone for an African team. That’s another story anyway.
The pandemonium that gripped African football prior to the 2010 World Cup is very telling. From the research I have done, I stand to be corrected, of the six African countries present at that tournament, only Algeria had a local coach, Rabah Saadane, Ivory Coast had the Swede Sven-Goran “not-here-for-the-money” Eriksson. Another Swede, Lars Lagerback was in charge of Nigeria. Cameroon had a Frenchman, Paul Le Guen, while South Africa had a former World Cup wining coach, Carlos Alberto Perreira from Brazil. Ghana had a Serb, Milovan Rajevac. All these were experienced coaches, in various degrees. Who won the World Cup. Kwachi ni ba SPAIN with a Eniesta’s goal.
South Africa’s appointment had some logic, as Perreira is a World Cup winning coach (1994) and had the luck of not having to qualify the team, as South Africa were hosts. Ghana was the only African team that made it past the group stages and it was by far the most convincing of the African teams at the tournament, only knocked out by the dastardly Luis Suarez on that unforgettable night at Soccer City, that’s why I don’t like Suarez.
African football seems to be following the path of its national economies: so much resources and human talent but always looking to the West for help. Yet Africa has a massive pool of footballers playing in the top leagues in Europe and elsewhere. European coaches are products of the same leagues that most Africans play for. I believe Africans and Europeans attend the same coaching courses yet African Fas and the soccer fun at large still see expatriate coaches above African coaches, and are happy to pay them a far higher salary. Familiarity breeds contempt; this is particularly true of Africa. It is the only continent that fails to recognise and exploit its vast footballing expertise for its own benefit.
Africa’s national football teams have failed to improve under foreign coaches and there is nothing to suggest that it will ever improve. Let’s face it, a coach that is useful in Europe would never leave for Africa. Why would they? It is the same way that aid dependency continues to fail Africa, only its own resources and talent can bring its national teams success on the biggest stages.
Comrades, is this the same way we should treat our very own Ba Honour Janza? Time has come for us to be mature enough and start recognizing our very own. And Kalusha said that we were not ready to have a local coach at the helm of the Chipolopolo. That was total madness. If Mr Janza does not deliver we shall definitely have all the reasons to start asking for his removal. I think for now his statistics are better that most of the so called foreign coaches who have ever invaded our privacy. Umuntu mu bi kaili tatasha. God bless real bloggers.Viva 2015 Afcon ViVa.
Teddy Malama ( Bashi Malama)
We can replace Janza, bring in a new coach let Janza assist him and his assistant.
If Janza wants to be the best coach he should be gamek for this kind of scenario because after having seen HR and PB he would have assisted someone completely different and then i will say he has experience. But not now not on the evidence shown from the start of qualifying to the end.
And also i afforded Janza the chance through out qualifying even justifying his appointment, i am only now voicing my concern after the evidence is there to see.
the following names take note:

if janza takes us to afcon and the results r negative. remember yo comments on this thread coz i will remember
@Paradox, whatever dude. Ine I have said give the man a chance. I didn’t say we are going to win AFCON. If you read my comments, I also talked about him setting us up for the future. People tend to read comments and just get what they want from them. Janza is not Mourinho, but he is an important step in this whole gambit. Zambia reached a point of stagnation after 2012 and even after PB tookover we were still not moving forward. Janza is a the much needed jolt that we have been waiting for in this team. There is actual competition for positions for the first time in a long time. We are not watching lethargic peformances by people who fly into the country and walk into the starting lineup. Chisamba Lungu’s benching actually brought the best out of him against Cape Verde.
You can qoute me if you want. If you think I will deny anything I said or backtrack then you are sadly mistaken. Especially coming from a person who defended HR despite his qualification record not even matching Janza’s.
I agree with you in your obervations, but be careful what you attribute to Janza and not. As the national team share in the ups and downs, it includes the players FA and son on.
PB was not doing a horrible job, we were coming back but of course maintaining Chris on life support. Something needed to happen but you cant say it was a master stroke from Janza to not get many points from the first 3 games.
Agreed. PB was not doing a horrible job and the first 3 games were quite terrible from Zambia. The addition of Labohm to the technical bench actually seemed to have been the catalyst for Zambia. I am by no means painting the picture of a saint here. Janza is green and he does look out of his depth in some respects. But, there is a huge positive in the flow of new blood in the team.
Janza in my opinion has not been given much opportunity. Let us see what he can do, then we can move on if he fails.
Paradox I feel th guys calling for Janza to be sacked not to carry us to afcon 15 where he has personally guided us is uncalled for n lacking objectivity, what have u guys seen that we can’t see? There carries that sate sate was given enough to prove himself n that he shud b starting? He hs done that..tell me which guy did u want him kod for national duties, given, sakuwaha, fwayo, jacob, winstone,d malama….he hs listened to us,instill discipline he has shown hs he is not afraid to discipline irrespective of yo experience…if u watched red arrows game u wud also agree why he selects musakanya, young disciplined chaps r gettn th nods….benching chisambadinho u cn agree wt me it hs also helped th guy coz some players think they r untouchables, I like th guys let’s give him support….for now we need high profile friendlies I suggest Algeria, cameroon,SA n one top european country ie…scotland, belgium, austria, wales etc let’s debate objectively I repeat….u even kn nangu mulande it won’t change….for this one Janza stays
My brother, sentiments aside, this team in this playing form cannot even win COSAFA!The tactical discipline is no longer there. It will be folly to ignore the more experienced players and cheat ourselves that the likes of the Musakanyas are ready for the big stage!Try to watch the games we had against Brazil and japan ,you will note that the team has lost its potency and lacks experience.
In Zambia we support anything as long as it walk. Read between the lines
walks
Awe ba Justice. Thats just emotional rhetoric, it bares no substance whatsoever. The man has clearly laid out his thoughts and your response is basically a dismissal rather than a statement that even requires any thought. Janza has been on that technical bench since HRs first dance, since Bonetti, and even HR and then PB. Making him sound like a walking pile of clothes is ridiculous. At least KK11 gives us his views packaged in logic and clear statements. Age does not give you license to simply say things kwati mule landa naba fontini.
@billy. u cant hanble me. I keep my coolness.
Man jose. we have the talent and the players r given time like kampamba. but do we have the skills and tactics of the coach to take us far during afcon.cut is clear janza can’t read the game. we have seen that game by game yet sum of u r still content. look at the teams who will he at afcon and aso yoself if a coach like janza has the Technical know how to handle teams like Senegal Cameroon.
There are only 2 teams at afcon that are weak, the rest will cause us problems if they are given half a chance. We have everything we need to have a great run at this tournament but we must be tactically sound and well versed leading up.
I dont think Janza can do that.
Also Mtonga must be brought in again.
@k11. I second you regarding your comments
KK11. I beg to disagree. What is more mediocre than sending out the same 11 everytime despite our inability to get results ala HR and PB? Janza lost 1 game in these qualifiers…1 game. Bonetti, lost 1 game when he was in charge. Why is Janza not being given a fair shake like everyone else?
Let FAZ fund themselves these Guys think they know everything even when it is the opposite
@ positive, if you go back and look at my comments regarding PB and Renard even then I was critical and advocated for new blood. With Janza my issue is his lack of tactical know how and player selection vid-a-vi starting 11. Musaknya vs Chisamba. Jacob vs Chamanga, Malama vs Nkausu.kangwa vs Sate Sate e.t.c some of these are glaring misses that if made at the Afcon, we will get hammered. In my opinion Janza will get outwitted and exposed.
