The battle for the three goalkeeping spots in the Zambia national team squad has intensified, with head coach George Lwandamina set to make some key decisions ahead of this month’s AFCON qualifiers against Algeria and Togo.
The ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal that South Africa-based goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata has been left out of contention for the upcoming qualifiers.
With Nsabata out of the picture, the race for the three places has been thrown wide open.
Red Arrows goalkeeper Lukas Mainza has entered the fray and is now competing for a place alongside Power Dynamos duo Willard Mwanza and Lawrence Mulenga, as well as Nchanga Rangers goalkeeper Victor Chabu.
Lwandamina is expected to name his final three goalkeepers as he puts the finishing touches to his squad for the crucial AFCON qualifying assignments.
The goalkeeping department is therefore shaping up as one of the most closely watched selection battles ahead of the September international window.
