The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) will pocket approximately K475,000 following the Chipolopolo Boys’ triumph at the 2022 COSAFA Cup.
According to the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) website, the winners will pocket half a million rands.
“Zambia receive R500,000 in prize-money to go with the coveted trophy, while Namibia will go home with R250,000. Senegal have earned R150,000 and Mozambique will pocket R100,000.”
Albert Kangwanda’s spectacular extra time goal was enough to secure Zambia a record sixth COSAFA Cup title.
The Copper Bullets edged Namibia 1-0 on Sunday evening to win the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup.
In a repeat of the 1998 final, Zambia played all the football as Namibia deployed a low block to frustrate the Chipolopolo.
Zambia has joined Zimbabwe as the two most successful sides in Southern Africa (six COSAFA titles each).



That is very little cash prize. Does it even cover the ezpenses the FAZ incurred in camping, allowances, travel and hotel bills?
