Zambia to form a U-15 national team… Invited for a tournament by Croatia confirms Andrew Kamanga

Zambia has been invited to an eight-team U-15 tournament by the Croatian Football Federation.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development during a press briefing over the weekend.

Kamanga said the Association will need to form an under fifteen national team to send to Croatia. He went on to reveal that they are also pondering on the idea of sending an under thirteen side.

“This year we have been invited by our partners Croatia to an eight-team U-15 tournament so we have to have a Zambia U-15 which will go and compete,” he said.

“We also looking at sending a U-13 team. If we can expose our players at an early age into international Competitions it means that as they grow they will become key to the development of the game,” he added.

This is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between Zambia and Croatia a year ago. Kamanga and Croatia FA boss Davor Suker signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of the 2019 FIFA Congress which was held in Paris, France.

The Croatia Federation has also offered to help Zambia set up its first-ever coaching school that is expected to come on stream soon. Croatia has offered to send football experts during the offseason to train coaches for the premier league.
