Malawian top side FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have appointed Zambian coach Donewell Yobe as Fitness and Strikers Trainer on Wedson Nyirenda’s first-team technical staff.
Yobe, 43, will oversee the conditioning of the first-team squad while working closely with the club’s forwards.
He holds a CAF B Coaching Diploma, as well as further qualifications in football science, fitness and performance.
Yobe had been identified by Nyirenda as part of his preferred technical team when the Zambian coach took charge of Bullets in June. However, his move to Malawi was delayed by his involvement with the Zambia Women’s National Team at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026.
He joins Bullets with experience in both club and international football, having worked in fitness, performance and coaching roles at FC Leopards, Kansanshi Dynamos, Napsa Stars and Zambia Under-20, in addition to his recent work with the Zambia women’s team.
His role with the Bullets attack will also benefit from his own experience as a striker.
Yobe began his playing career with Lusaka Dynamos and ZESCO United before moving to Finland, where he joined AC Oulu. He later returned to Zambia to play for Napsa Stars, where he also captained the side.
During his time at AC Oulu, Yobe finished as the club’s leading scorer for three consecutive seasons from 2008 to 2010 and helped the club secure promotion to Finland’s top flight in 2008.
His appointment strengthens Nyirenda’s technical team as Bullets look to dethrone defending Champions Mighty Wanderers. Bullets are currently 4th with 27 points after 14 games and just two points behind leaders Silver Strikers.
