  1. we needed to play Ghana and Burkina Faso enroute to Yaonde. We must get serious than this. Uganda? How do you qualify to the world cup with Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon in your group. As in how serious must you be as a nation

  2. Good job FAZ! Uganda will give us a good run for our money especially if we play this match at Namboole stadium where I believe our team will get a feel of what is to come when they touch down in Yaounde ….playing in front of a hostile crowd.

  3. Good move FAZ….Uganda’s recent form is truly going to be worth the friendly.

Kamanaga/Ponga bashers were are you??? are not going to give even just a bit of credit on this one?

    • But what have they done so far to deserve any credit. The new FAZ needs to up their game if Zambia has to restore its lost glory.I was really disappointed to see Zambia losing at home against Nigeria. I am even surprised that they failed to secure the services of Igesund as new Zambian coach who is now coaching Mbesuma’s club Highlands Park

  4. Meanwhile, Zambia’s number one goal minder Kennedy Mweene was in between the sticks when his team Mamelodi Sundowns (2016 African Club Champions) beat Polokwane City 2-0. Mweene completed the game.

  5. The friendly game with Uganda is a good one,but that does not rule out Kamanga and Ponga as failures at football house .will never win a game with these two rats.

    • A little optimism never hate no one.It may not work anyway! There is a lot of work to be done, and given the current situation, I think they are giving it their best shot. I think friendlies are what we fans have been crying for. Let’s give credit were it’s due.

      • KAMANGA IN TROUBLE, DEC INVESTIGATES HIM OVER K25,000 HOTEL BILL AND AIR TICKET EXPENSES:

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga is on the verge of being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) over alleged misappropriation of money at Football House, latest documents obtained by MuGrade 7 indicate.

According to signed documents obtained this afternoon in Lusaka, Kamanga is alleged to have incurred a personal bill of about K25,000 at Ndola’s Savoy Hotel during the highly tense campaigns for the FAZ Presidency last march and days later after winning the elections instructed FAZ treasurer Rix Mweemba to have the bill absorbed by Football House.

Mweemba however wrote back to Kamanga protesting that the instructions went against the financial procedure because the bill was a personal one since it was accrued during his own personal campaigns. But Kamanga told him to go ahead.

The FAZ President is also alleged to have bought airtickets for non Football Association of Zambia officials who flew to the Democratic Republic of Congo, all expenses on the tabs of the football body.

Kamanga’s time at the association has been controversial with many soccer officials and pundits accusing him of not doing much to promote Zambian football with National team having poor results.

Those familiar to Football House say Kamanga and former FAZ President Kalusha have never seen eye to eye since the duo’s highly tense election which saw the shock overthrow of the 1988 African Footballer of year off the pinnacle of Zambian football.

  6. Uganda will be a good fit for chipolopolo, good move FAZ. One thing have learnt is that zambians will always complain, last time some bloggers cried for friendlies even just with our local teams but we have two games against, in my opinions, good teams and people are still complaining.
One thing everyone seems to be forgetting is that Zambia is not as formidable as it used to be 4yrs ago to attract very high quality friendlies.

  7. Realistically it’s an uphill battle against the Indomitable Lions in their backyard…..Far are the days of Big Michael Chabala (RIP)!

  9. Uganda has nothing special to offer in this game. They are a good defensive side who always find the Blackstars in discomfitted position when its time to play them.
In 2014, Our fans supported them to hold us to a 1-1 draw and since then, The blackstars had not been able to play at our fortress save the poorly attended Comoros Match
In the return leg in Kampala, we were fairly beaten and People were glad cause they didnt want our team to qualify.
Now in 2016. We had the best pitch in the country in Cape Coast but the leadership were scared of fan apathy so they sent the game to Tamale and the pitch was the poorest of all the first round of Qualifiers. The ministry and the FA were in fight with each other. Micho said after the game he came to get a point and he did. But thanks to God we have been grouped in AFCON and this gives us an opportunity to exterminate this Uganda troublea if we prepare well. The dont posses the strenght and skill of Cameroon.
I watched the Cameroon game and guess what, they attacked the Algerias but fizzled out 15 mins to the end. @Ck is right Uganda wont attack you like how Mukandjo and Abubakr would, those guys are sharper and I wish Chipo the best of luck.

  10. FIRSTLY LET ME SAY THAT THIS IS A BETTER MOVE FAZ HAS MAde. frankly speaking in zambia we are good at talking over a current result. honestly the FAZ executive is still new and has made this positive move to have about three (3) friendly games and somebody should ask what they have done. are you just looking without seeing? i have spoken time and again that for us to be there we need to grow a tactic that will eventually fruit and then we reap. this is a process and can not be achieved in 10 games. patience and monitoring the growth will give us good results one day. even our winning of the 2012 AFCON, it was the seed we planted before the Angola Afcon and when we went to angola we saw that our players had the mental strength, desire and courage to take on the big names of AFrica. this is what eventually gave us the best results in 2012. from there we lost focus and we went down the drains. we are ZAMBIA and with focus we can do it. lastly even us as FANs we should never have a give up kind of support. lets stand with the team in all situations.
    i thank you all
