Zambia climb three places on FIFA Rankings

The Chipolopolo Boys have made a significant leap on the latest FIFA World Rankings from 88th to 83rd.

In Africa, the Avram Grant coached side is now ranked 17th.

The last time Zambia played a match was in March when they were thrashed 5-0 by Russia.

Zambia’s best FIFA ranking for the men’s national team is 15th in the World achieved in February-May 1996 and again in August 1996,

This was a team which came third at the 1996 African Cup of Nations.

It had the likes of the late Dennis Lota, Andrew Tembo, Mwape Miti and John Lungu.

Others were Kalusha Bwalya, Kenneth and Mordon Malitoli.
