Walter Bwalya saga is over after clearance from FAZ

Nkana forward Walter Bwalya has been cleared and registered under the names Walter Binene Bwalya Sabwa by the Football Association of Zambia.

The 22 year old striker has also registered as a Congolese to dash any hopes of featuring for the Chipolopolo.

The 2016 top scorer was at the centre of controversy after it emerged that he was playing under different names.

Despite missing about 6 weeks of football, Binene-Sabwa has scored five league goals for Nkana and still his club’s leading scorer.

The return of the talented striker is a boast to coach Beston Chambeshi.

The Ndeke faithful will be hoping his partnership with Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba will now flourish.

The Zambian glamour side has had an indifferent season so far.

They lie 6th on the log with 31 points, 7 behind leaders Napsa Stars.

In the last decade, Binene-Sabwa alongside Patrick Kabamba are the only strikers to have hit 20 plus league goals.

Kabamba, also a left footed Congolese striker hit 20 goals in 20 games for Zanaco before he trekked to Angola.

Another striker from Congo, Chrispin Mugalu has already scored 11 goals for Lusaka Dynamos and is on the verge achieving that feat this season.

    • There’s a process my friend. It has to be done properly otherwise you will end up getting docked points and incurring losses for each game he plays. Let’s not forget we are just finally getting to the bottom of his real ice tu and citizenship

  1. How can the saga be over when Nkana have been fielding an ineligible player…..They should be docked points for all the games he featured in. ….rules must be followed. ….We know PF have turned the country into a lawless jungle but we can’t adopt this approach in football

    • You are absolutely right Soccerguru. Nkana should lose points for fielding an ineligible player or at least some form of punishment because it would be difficult to undo what was carried on over three season.

I saw his new player’s identity card. I think it bears the names Binene Walter Bwalya Sabwa. How can FAZ incorporate fake names on his identity cards? If Walter and Bwalya are really his names, why didn’t they appear on his Congolese registration?

Do FAZ know what they are doing?

  2. Duo citizenship my lad, that’s the way to go. Its treazonable to get green id by dubious means. Dock Nkana points and charge this boy a colossal sum, while let him continue playing and improve his game He will feature for Chipos soon
