Wada Wada: Players must learn from Chamanga

Veteran Coach Wedson Nyirenda has bemoaned that most players are not hungry for success, a situation that is affecting the flow of results at club and national team levels.

The 45 year old joined the Airmen in 2018 and went on to score 52 goals in 175 appearances.

Nyirenda says young players need to learn from retired striker James Chamanga who through his career desired to continuously win trophies.

He says Chamanga also remains a good example that most of the 2012 AFCON winning players should have emulated in advancing playing years and contributing back to the local game after their exploits at professional levels came to an end.

Nyirenda was speaking at Nkoloma Stadium today as Chamanga honoured and recognized him for being one of the coaches that played a pivotal role in his career.

Nyirenda has since urged the former City of Lusaka, Moroka Swallows and Red Arrows striker to take up coaching as he has much to offer to the young generation.

And Chamanga has thanked NYIRENDA for the role he played in shaping his career.

He said Nyirenda, whom he refers to as his father instilled the spirit of hard work and determination.
