U23: Young Chipolopolo in must win tricky Egypt encounter

The Zambia U-23 National Team will be looking to overturn the 2-0 defeat they suffered in the first leg when they welcome the Young Pharaohs to the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.

The team arrived back home on Friday and immediately got down to work ahead of Sunday’s crucial encounter.

Coach Oswald Mutapa is expected to make a few changes to his starting eleven on Sunday.

Francis Mwansa is likely to maintain his place between the sticks with Happy Nsiku, Emmanuel Chembe, Gift Mphande and Mathews Chabala making up the back four.

In midfield, Mutapa could make changes with Mannah Chiwisa likely to make his full debut at home teaming up with Miguel Chaiwa.

Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale, John Kosamu, Patrick Gondwe, and Golden Mashata are all available in the creative department.

Upfront Andrew Phiri, Enock Sakala Jnr, and Ricky Banda will battle it out for a place.

The Morocco 2023 AFCON final round, second qualifier against Egypt in Ndola, is set for 18:00 hours kick off.

Coach Oswald Mutapa’s lads trail the junior Pharaohs 2-0 from the first leg in Cairo.

Winners over two legs will book a ticket to the AFCON which will be used as a springboard for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Tickets are selling at K50 (all round) and K100 VIP across Shoprite outlets. Additionally tickets can be purchased online through the ALL1ZEDTICKET online platforms.
