U23 back home from Egypt

The Zambia U-23 National Team has returned home after a disappointing AFCON qualifier loss away in Egypt. 

The young Copper Bullets arrived at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport shortly after 13:00 hrs. 

Egypt scored two second half goals to beat Zambia 2-0 in Cairo on Wednesday night in a CAF U23 African Cup of Nations qualifier to carry an advantage into the second leg. 

Goals from Ibrahim Adel and Abdurahman Atef were enough to give the young pharaohs a 2-0 caution over the Osward Mutapa coached Zambian side. 

Zambia hosts  Egypt in the return leg on Sunday at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

  2. Zambia was technically poor, looks like the coaching staff approach was to defend defend and defend like Lesotho which is wrong in football. Zambia played without a short on target.
