It’s match day three at the 2017 Zambia Total U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which will see Group A teams complete their group stage games.
Hosts Zambia have already secured a place in the last four but still have a date with second placed Egypt at the Heroes Stadium.
Pre-tournament favorites Mali who were annihilated by Zambia on Wednesday via a 6 – 1 scoreline will look to bounce back quickly against fellow West African opponents Guinea at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
All teams have a chance to qualify and it will be winner takes all though the two teams playing in Ndola will still need Zambia to pick a result in Lusaka for a win to take them through.
Zambia coach ‘Quick Silver’ Bestone Chambeshi is expected to make changes to his squad to allow maximum recovery to his players ahead of the semi final clash.
Chambeshi will also be looking to rest players who are a booking away from suspension and these include goalkeeper Mangani Banda and midfielder tanker Boyd Musonda.
While the defense is expected to remain unchanged, Enock Mwepu may drop in he defensive role with Chrispin Sakulanda, Kenneth Kalunga, Harrison Chisala and Conlyde Luchanga all expected to start.
Despite the expected changes, the young Chipolopolo will be hoping for an outright victory to maintain the record as the only team to have won all games in this tournament.
Egypt will look to exploit the cohesion issues thsee changes may bring and will be hoping midfield maestro Nasser Maher Abd will be on top of his game.
Striker Mostafa Mohamed is likely to have a tough time getting past the solid defensive partnership of Moses Nyondo and skipper Solomon Sakala.
A draw may suffice for Egypt if as long as there is no winner in the other game.
In Ndola, it will be a tough encounter as both teams need a win to progress.
It is expected to be an eciting match as Guinea thrive on quick surges when building into attack while Mali will persistently press with swift and skilful Amadou Haidara and Sekou Koita.
Which team do you predict will join Zambia in the semi finals?

Guinea may go through if they maintain their persistence.

All Zambian players are good, but special ones are
Mwepu Enock- I am convinced, he is something.
Daka Patson – no doubt boy is here.
Mangani Banda – God spare him with injuries, he got it. Please take him to Europe or China.
Hello doubtful Zambian fan. Do you remember my words in defense of the young guns that were favoured for places in the senior Chipolopolo ahead of their seniors whom you termed better players. My words were that there is definitely something special in the boys. My advice was that you should judge them when they play their peers. There we go. I guess you judged them at COSAFA and now was your second chance judge them again. Can we revisit the discussion.
Shoot! Missed the match. Is that 3-1 score line true?
welcome mwepu

Egypt crash out of U20 AFCON
Zambia came back to beat Egypt 3-1 in the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group A game at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon.
The victory sees Young Chipolopolo finish at the top of Group A with nine points, while the Young Pharaohs finish third with two points.
The opening stages of the game were very tense as the Young Pharaohs did well to contain the Young Chipolopolo, who were keen to take the lead.
But as the game progressed Egypt began pushing forward in numbers – applying pressure on the Zambian defence, which was led by Solomon Sakala.
Egypt forward Ahmed Aboelfetouh Mohamed was looking lively for the Young Pharaohs upfront as they searched for the opening goal.
The pressure paid off in the 35th minute when Karim Hassan put the ball into an open net to make it 1-0 to Egypt – silencing the Zambian fans in the process.
Zambia tried to grab an equalizing goal before the half-time break, but the Young Pharaohs stood firm at the back and the score was 1-0 to Egypt at the interval.
But it took only four minutes for Patson Daka to make it 1-1 for Zambia in the second-half with a good finish – much to the delight of the home crowed.
The momentum was with Zambia and in the 63rd minute, Egypt goalkeeper Mostafa Mohamed pulled off a great save keeping out a deflected header.
However, the Young Pharaohs keeper was beaten ten minutes later when Fashion Sakala headed home from close range to make it 2-1 Zambia.
Daka, who had levelled matters for the Young Chipolopolo, scored again – sealing Zambia’s 3-1 victory with a good finish in stoppage time.
As a result Egypt are knocked out of the tournament, while Zambia had already qualified for the semi-finals and also the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup finals.
