Kalusha steps down from FIFA race

Zambian football legend Kalusha Bwalya has stepped down from the Fifa Council race.

Kalusha intimated that he had taken the action for peace and prosperity in African and World football.

“After a lot of soul searching, I have decided to step aside from the upcoming Fifa council member seat for the sake of peace in football,” Kalusha told supersport.com.

“I want to take this opportunity to wish both Kwesi Nyantakyi and Leodegar Tenga the best in the upcoming elections as they seek to foster more relationships for Africa,” he added.

Bwalya, who is also a Caf exco member and former Faz President, has surprised friends and foes with his announcement.

The elections are slated for March 16 in Addis Ababa where other positions will also be contested including the Caf presidency.

  1. Kalusha has never stepped down from any race in his life. I wonder what the meaning of this is. Might become clear further along.

Any way we wish Kalu well. We hope for peace and prosperity for local scene where collectively Zambian administrators are stronger.

    • There is only one meaning..he has a huge monkey called corruption from Dubai on his back! Fifa has changed the last few months and no funny fellow mentioned in an FBI investigation would be entertained in the new set up! Plan B…get Kamanga out of faz, a silly plan from my most beloved captain of all times 🙁

  2. Good luck to him in whatever move he is planning, Issa Hayatou will hand him the CAF presidency now? Lol, that witch Issa!

  3. ‘The undefeated guru’ and others using unplatable language. Be warned that we we won’t tolerate this any further.
