A memorable run by Zambia at 1994 Africa Cup of Nations final in Tunisia saw the reconstituted team after the Gabon Air-crash reach the finals of the tournament only to be beaten 2- 1 by Nigeria in the finals.
In this second match of the group stage, Zambia was fresh from a goalless draw against Siera Leone a couple of days earlier and they stunned Ivory Coast to set the pace for the rest of the tournament.
Kenneth ‘Bubble’ Malitoli came off the bench to score the only goal of the match.
Zambia would three days later beat Senegal by a similar margin with a goal scored by Evans Sakala.

@Zamfoot great throwback still got memories and moments of the 94africa cup.
#will jst leave it rite here quick.
How we won this game i will never know because we were hammered left right and centre. If i remember very well they even had a legitimate which was wrongly dissalowed.
The goal that was ruled offside against Ivory Coast was taken by Joel Tiehi.
Joel Tiehi is the guy in the picture with Litana.
The win against Ivory Coast made us the group winners. We avoided Ghana(Who won group D) and faced Senegal in the QF that we beat by a cracking 40meters strike by Evans Sakala. We met Mali in the Semis whom we clobbered 4 nil to put us thru to the Final against the Stephen Keshi led Nigerian squad. While Joel Tiehi played well for the Ivorians, the player that caught the eye in the 1st round was Michelle Bassolle.
Bassolle was definitely impressive. I think he ended up scoring 2 goals against Nigeria in the semi-final. It then went to penalties which Ivorycoast lost.
Great throw back, through ball from Kalu and Malitoli scores.
