The Zambian Premier League has warned Super League teams to stop the habit of refusing to enter the Nakambala Stadium dressing rooms.
According to a memo by League manager Brian Mulenga accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, Teams that will refuse to enter the dressing rooms at Nakambala Stadium will face Disciplinary action.
“We have noted that in direct disobedience of Memo 57 of 2022/23 season of
the Zambian Premier League, teams continue to misbehave and misconduct
themselves at Nakambala Stadium by refusing to enter the dressing rooms
and refuse to adhere to instructions from the match officials.” Read part of the Memo.
“Please take note that this counterproductive behaviour can no longer be tolerated. Please take this as official notification that with immediate effect that any team that refuses to enter the dressing room at Nakambala Stadium will be charged under the Disciplinary Code and the General Secretary, Head Coach
and Team Manager in their individual capacities will also be charged.
The wilful disobedience of lawful instructions and deeply distasteful display
of superstition has embarrassed Zambian football and we reserve the right
to punish erring teams who disobeyed Memo 57. These displays of anarchy and indiscipline must cease forthwith. Please take this as an official notification.”
Log leaders Power Dynamos are the latest side that refused to use the dressing rooms at Nakambala Stadium over the weekend.
Power Dynamos and FC MUZA played to a goalless draw over the weekend
Has anyone at FAZ investigated why teams are refusing to use the dressing room? Also, are the standards in both dressing rooms the same are at least up to standard?
Also, what law of the game requires a team to use the opposition dressing room?
