Zambian legend Stopilla Yannick Sunzu linked up with new Chipolopolo Boys coach Aljosa Asanovic last week.
Asanovic and Sunzu are believed to have discussed a various things concerning Zambian football.
“Yes, it’s true the two met. The coach invited him and big man showed up,” a ZamFoot Crew source said.
“Definately, the issue of Sunzu being recalled should have been discussed.
While Zambia is blessed with an array of attacking players, the Chipolopolo Boys have been shipping goals with lack of consistent back four the main reason.
The 32 year old defender last played for Zambia 2 years ago under Sven Vanderbroeck.
He is currently playing in China.
Sunzu is raved by Zambian fans having scored the winning penalty against Ivory Coast the secured Zambia the CAF 2012 African Cup of Nations.

Good move coach bring them all
This is the way to go. There has been a lot of talk about the weakness in defense, yet Sunzu was not approached. The 2012 heroes were unceremoniously removed from the team. The result – absence from 3 AFCON s. The right thing to do would have been to slowly bring in the young while the older folk were still there. The older ones would then gradually retire.I hope we have learned our lesson.
This is a light at the end of a tunnel
Made bleak from Nyirenda, Lwandamina, Chiyangi, Chambeshi episodes. Expatriate coaches were never given opportunity to work with senior players such as Sunzu, Sinkala, Kalaba, Chansa, Kangwa brothers, basically because of jealousy!
Please call ba mupa kalaba as well please, please
I’m also Happy to see this happening. Sunzu, Sinkala plus others are all Zambians. The team needs them as long as they can still contribute immensely to the team.
