Israeli based winger Chipyoka Songa says he is working hard while patiently preparing for his turn at the Senior National team.
Songa told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview that when the time is right it will happen hence he just has to be ready for his opportunity.
The former ZESCO United winger has not been given a proper opportunity yet at National Team having only played a combined 39 minutes so far.
Songa was one of the exciting young players in the Israeli Premier League last season helping Hapoel Petah Tikva finish in the top half of the table.
He netted eight goals in all competitions with three assists before a head injury ended his season prematurely missing out on the final 10 games due to a concussion protocol.
“I am pushing so that when the opportunity comes it finds me ready. I still have the dream and desire to play for the National team, I am young and will wait for my turn. It will eventually happen when the time is right,” Songa told the ZamFoot Crew.
Songa was also quick to heap praise on compatriot Klings Kangwa who was the best player in the Israeli Premier League last season labeling him as a genius.
Kangwa produced one of the best seasons of his career last season, recording 21 goal contributions in the league with 12 goals and nine assists helping Hapoel Be’er Sheva to the Israeli Premier League title.
Kangwa was also named as the Israeli Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) securing 54% of the overall vote, finishing comfortably ahead of Yarden Shua on 37%, while Omer Atzili and For Peretz received 5% and 4% respectively.
“Klings is a genius, he is exciting to watch, he is who thinks he is. His confidence, his aura,” Songa told the ZamFoot Crew.
“He is really doing good and am excited about being someone coming from the same country as him and seeing him win at the big stage, winning trophies in Israel. It’s a pleasure, even playing against him and watching.”
“He is a good guy, he is a friend and a bother. I just think he is the best. He needed to win that player of the season, he has done very well in the last two seasons,” he added.
