Zimbabwe based Platinum FC striker Aubrey Chirwa has made the final 21 man squad that will represent Zambia at the Senegal 2015 U23 CAF Championship.
The team will leave for Dakar on Wednesday for the tournament which kicks off on Saturday.
Full squad:

Defenders: Benedict Chepeshi (Red Arrows), Taonga Bwembya (Mufulira Wanderers), Boyd Mkandawire (Napsa Stars), Solomon Sakala (Kabwe Warriors), Benson Sakala (Power Dynamos), Kapota Kayawe (Nkana), Billy Mutale (Power Dynamos)
Midfielders: Jackson Chirwa (Green Buffaloes), Paul Katema (Red Arrows), Salulani Phiri (Zanaco), Spencer Sautu (Green Eagles), John Ching’andu (Zesco United), Lubambo Musonda (Gandzasar Kapan /Armenia);
Forwards: Ronald Kampamba (Lierse SK/Belgium), Patrick Ngoma (Al Ittihad/ Egypt), Conlyde Luchanga (Lusaka Dynamos), Aubrey Chirwa (Platinum FC/Zimbabwe), Sam Friday (Green Buffaloes)
Good squad. All the best lads. I see Patson Daka has been left out. This boy is for the U-17 and is one for the future. He should not be rushed in teams way over and above his age. Good to see that Aubrey Chirwa boy from Zim has been included in the squad.
Looks like a good team ll take a closer look at it especially Aubrey Chirwa.
Patson Daka should have made the cut. Patrick Ngoma is one that is most experienced in our striking department and i expect him to shine at the tournament!
But why wait until Wednesday? they should have left today, to give them time to acclimatise.
Wish you well mwe bana Zambia
How old is Cletus Chota Chama of Zesco United?
this is the team to take us to Brazil and win us future afcon. I have confidence in this team.
The Zanaco striker?
…yes, and the highly talked about Lumwana Radiants midfielder?
Mmmmmmm but were is cherlse zulu the boy played well in qulifiers.
Well assembled….is Charles Zulu and moses phiri going to be above 23 next yr??or they have just been left out?
@sly you mean Moses Phiri????Unfortunately the guys is nursing an injury and he had to be left out.thats a blow if you ask me thats the reason Aubrey Chirwa has been called.he is also good
That’s the best team that can be picked..All the best children of our mother land so proud of u!! Win or lose muli fipolopolo…Go, enjoy urselves and conquer…
Good squad and all the best guys, its suprising that overseas teams allowed the stars to leave, does this shows their less importance?
RSA will go there without overseas stars as they are regulars in their teams and therefore couldnt be released, about 6 players I think…Lebo phiri,Lebo Mothiba,Thibang phete,Ty Sandows,Kgosi Ntlhe,Michael Koopowitz,Nlakanipo Ntuli and siph mdlalose…all the best to zed and RSA
Spencer Sautu and Kapumbu shud hv been included!
@ Slim, Revisit the list of those midfielders. Spencer Sautu is there. Maybe you wanted to say Spencer Ngalande.
All the best to simukonda and the guns fully of bullets its time to gun them down go Zambia go
Charles Zulu and Saith Sakala?????
@Sly, sorry I actually wanted to say Saith Sakala and Kapumbu. What’s the issue with this guy, he perfoms well as a left back?!
Ba Kapumbu bafyashi (Kapumbu is an old man )
Boss kapumbu? This is under 23. Unless you have a different age for this guy
were is larry bwalya.moses phiri.charles zulu kelvin mubanga evn mukuka mulenga cn do beta at u23
we are goin wth full defensive midfieders no attacking midfieders only sautu cn play as number 8
GOOD SQUAD
Givvol,
Mukuka Mulenga has not playing; on what basis would you select him. Moses Phiri is ill, we all know he would have made the cut.Do you even know the last time the hugely talented Kelvin Mubanga ever kicked a ball; the poor thing is also injured. Please guys lets criticize with information so that we can be constructive.
How many are they supposed to be I see 21 players instead of 23?.
Good luck Guys!
Goodluck guys,make us pround
To Critically analyze the team selection, I don’t think this teams can win us the tournament. I don’t have a problem with defenders but the midfielders. All the players on the list under “midfielders” are all defensive minded except Lubambo Musonda and maybe John Chingandu. The creativity in this team, I feel, is and will be limited and we will hardly win games convincingly. I know one would argue with Sautu, but even him is defensive but just up further on the field. I feel we have a lot of strikers, five strikers are alot when u need only one, two or three, depending on the formation; but zambian football goes well with two strikers. So to me four strike are enough and the coach should have traded a striker for an extra midfielder. Zambia will lack flair and wining games will be tough with this team.
Good team wish you all the best Lads!
ws wth moses phiri 2day in lsk he jst got ka minor injuly bt fit 2 play at in 2days tym and abt mukuka mulenga he has bin training and playing in friendly games jst like kennedy mweene so wats the diferrence he suld hv bin included in the team cz his the only creative player in this age group
Charles Zulu is 19, plays well for the senior national team but not good enough for the under 23? Kaya! Good team though.
ITS A GUD SQUAD & I BELIEV THAT WE WIL QUALIFY TO BRAZIL, THOUGH PATSON DAKA & CHARLES ZULU SHUD HV BEEN INCLUDED. WISHNG DE BOYS ALL DE BEST!!
We got enough ammunition. Goodluck guys.
Bushe Lubambo Musonda na Kampamba bakabacita realese ku ma clubs yabo?
The coach cud have included 3 over age players.May be this tournament has different rules from other tournaments.
At the olympics you can use 3 over age players, not in qualifying.
guys mordern football is being played with two defensive midfielders.
… And five defensive midfielders for that matter.
I agree with Colle, maybe we could have traded a striker for an attacking midfielder like Mukuka Mulenga or Julius Situmbeko or even Larry Bwalya. Otherwise, fair squad
This is good squad with proper combination of players any team is beatable at the torn. Sate Sate can play as an attacking midfielder and a lone striker at the same time. My first 11 for the first game would be
1. Toaster Nsabata
2.Benedict Chepeshi
3.Boyd Mkandawire
4.Benson Sakala
5.Billy Mutale
6.Jackson Chirwa
7.Lubambo Musonda
8.Spencer Sautu
9.Ronald Kampamba
10.Conlyde Luchanga
11.Patrick Dude Ngoma
Subs:
Kapota Kayawe, Solomon Sakala, Salulani, John Ching’andu and Aubry Chirwa
I would go for most versatile type of formation which is 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 Sate Sate as a lone striker blind folding the enemy but in the plan goals should also come from Dude and Luchanga. Arabs love bypassing mid with long balls packing mid can work against my team. I rest my case
I support it bro its awesome, hoping it would be realised.
I don’t want to put my head into this squad despite looking good on paper. My BP may shoot up during the tournament.
Gud squad keep it up
All the best. But Charles zulu and Evans kangwa , mbola would have been included in the squad.
Mukuka Mulenga is playing in the MDC challenge so he should have been included.
