Buffaloes look to maintain winning start, ZESCO face off with  ZANACO Ladies as Luyando host YASA 

The Eden University Women’s Super League will enter week eight of action this afternoon with some exciting games set to take centre stage. 

Green Buffaloes will look to continue their unbeaten run with ZESCO Ndola Girls the defending Champions keen on keeping up the pace while Luyando Foundation Girls welcomes stubborn YASA Queens. 

At Independence Stadium, a double header will entertain fans, the early kick off sees struggling National Assembly welcome Konkola Blades Queens. 

Blades Queens will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Zegalicious in midweek in a rescheduled week 2 encounter. 

Assembly will also hope to get their second win of the season after losing 1-0 to Trident Queens last weekend. 

The second match of the day will see Luyando Foundation Girls welcome stubborn YASA Queens at 15h00 . 

Luyando Foundation Girls suffered a 2-1 loss away to Konkola Blades Queens and will be hoping to get back to winning ways but face a tricky YASA Queens side. 

Harriet Matipa, Margaret Chisenga and Eunice Bwalya were influential in YASA Queens win over the weekend and will again be the players to watch for the visitors while Luyando Foundation Girls will look to Juliet Mulubwa, Grace Sakala and Tamika Simpamba to produce the goods with the experience of Elinah Mbewe in the middle of the park. 

At DK Stadium, Chipata Girls still searching for their first win of the season welcome Red Arrows Women. 

The Air Ladies will view this as a winnable game as they hope to keep up the pace with ZESCO Ndola Girls, Green Eagles and Green Buffaloes above them on the table. 

At Edwin Imboela Stadium, Nkwazi suffered their first loss last weekend away to YASA Queens and will look to immediately get back to winning ways but they welcome a tricky Indeni Roses side. 

Indeni fresh from a huge 6-1 win over Chipata Girls will look to continue their momentum with veteran Noria Sosala finding her goal scoring form.

Elsewhere, Nchanga Rangers Queens have a chance to return to winning ways this afternoon as they welcome ZISD Women at Nchanga Stadium. 

After suffering a humiliating 6-0 loss at the hands of ZESCO Ndola Girls, Nchanga are desperate to return to winning ways and face a team that has only managed one point so far this season and has shipped in 23 goals already. 

At Sunset Stadium, ZANACO Ladies welcome defending Champions ZESCO Ndola Girls. 

Eneless Phiri has been having one of her best seasons’ so far and will again look to create chances for her teammates having set up 10 goals already so far this season. 

Meanwhile Regina Chanda and Blessings Zangose Zulu combined for a goal last weekend as ZANACO Ladies shared the spoils with Red Arrows away at Nkoloma and the duo will again be very important for Bankers Ladies who will look to cause an upset. 

On Sunday, Elite Ladies welcome Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles in a tricky encounter. Both teams are looking to get back to winning ways after losing their respective games last weekend. 

At Reiz Arena, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club welcome Trident Queens as they look to maintain their winning run. 

The four time Champions edged Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles 1-0 last weekend while Trident Queens also recorded their second win of the season as they beat National Assembly 1-0. 

Coach Charles Haalubono will bank on his midfield trio of Maweta Chilenga, Natasha ‘Little Tasha’ Nanyangwe and the amazing Evarine Susan Katongo to create chances and lead his side to possibly their seventh win of the season. 

Trident have a huge mountain to climb as they face the Zambia sponsored side but skipper Nandipha Mkombe will be key as they hope to avoid conceding early and keep a tight ship at the back. 

Elsewhere, Amazing Grace fresh from their first win of the season welcome Green Eagles in Kabwe. 

Amazing Grace will have to find a way to stop Rachel Moono and Theresa Chewe who have been on fire this season.
