Zambia U17 Women’s National Team striker Victoria Mbali says everyone in the Copper Princesses camp wants to win at the World Cup.
Mbali says the team is targeting going all the way and winning the tournament hence they are putting in a lot of effort in training.
The Copper Princesses were eliminated in the group stage last year and Mabli says the team plans to do a lot better than they did last year.
“Right now I’m in camp for the U17 Women’s World Cup. Right now the mood in camp is very good, high intensity, everyone wants to win so we’re trying our very best to put in a lot of effort so we should bring back the Cup to Zambia,” she said.
“Right now what we can say is that a lot of people, what I have observed is that a lot of people in camp want this very much. And like last World Cup, we plan to do much better and bring the Cup to Zambia. You keep cheering for us and giving us support and 100% we’re going to bring back the Cup.”
The Copper Princesses are currently in Morocco for a pre tournament camp as they prepare for their third appearance at the global showpiece.
Zambia will play their opening match on 19 October against Paraguay at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 3) in Sale before facing Japan three days later at the same venue.
Their final game will be against New Zealand at the Football Academy Mohammed VI (Pitch 2).
The top two teams in each group will qualify to the knockout stages of the tournament.
