South African PSL club Orlando Pirates has arrived in Zambia where they’ll continue preparations ahead of the start of the 2018/2019 season next month.
The team arrived in Ndola around 13:00hrs where they will hold their one week long camp and are expected to play some friendly matches with Zambia opposition among them Forest Rangers who have been the main Zambian facilitators of the trip since their head coach Perry Mutapa is a former Pirates player.
Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is anticipating tough matches with the teams they face whilst in Zambia.
“We are in the building phase of our pre-season. This is the stage where we lay down the foundation for the season that lies ahead,” Micho told the Clubs official website shortly before departure.
“We had a successful trip to Nelspruit where we got to blend the old and new players together, and now we are off to Zambia where we’ll continue to strengthen all departments by exposing them to different playing conditions and of course stronger opposition,” He added.
Pirates have two Zambian players within their ranks in winger Augustine Mulenga and striker Justin Shonga.

There is a new thing of pairs of Zambian players, I say it points to good things ;
Olando Pirates SA : Justin Shongs and Augustine Mulenga
FC Salzburg , Austria : Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu
Oostende , Belgium : Emmanuel Banda and Fashion Sakala
“Micho”, is the Coach I expected our FAZ to pick after the way he transformed the Cranes.
