Saileti laments his teams’ lack of concentration

Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Zeddy Saileti was left disappointed with his team’s lack of concentration after a 1-1 draw with NAPSA Stars away at Reiz Arena.

Francisco Madinga put the Mabanga Boys in the lead with his first goal for the team in the 49th minute but the Pensioners came back into the game and leveled matters through Augustine Mulenga in the 77th minute to make sure the two teams shared the spoils.

The former Nkana coach felt his team should start killing off games going forward. He believes he needs to work on the mental strength of the team so that they can concentrate throughout the 90 minutes.

“Yeah of course it’s a worry because we are only scoring one goal, at the beginning we were not scoring but now we are scoring one goal which is a positive but we need to kill the game we need to score two goals i think then it will be good for our team,” he said.

“Of course it’s the mental strength we just need to work on the mental strength the whole team they need to concentrate throughout 90 minutes they need to know that we need to win some games also but one goal is a big advantage we just need to keep that one goal but we failed to do that with lack of concentration,” he added.

Saileti felt his side was the better of the two and should have done better in managing their lead.

He was also quick to admit that his defense struggled to deal with the long balls from NAPSA Stars.

“Yeah,:i think we played well but in one moment I think we should have defended very well because we scored first and I thought we had more advantage than NAPSA Stars. NAPSA had more pressure but  we failed to defend one goal again. I think it’s not a good result for us,” he said.

“Yeah, I think our defense was under a bit of pressure because they started pumping long balls, which I think was not so difficult but we invited them to play those long balls and the pressure was there and we lacked a lot of concentration but we failed to manage one goal.”

The aim for the MTN Super League newcomers still remains finding their first win of the 2025/2026 season as they are still winless.

“Our main objective is to win the game. We haven’t won any game this season so again we’ll go back and train and prepare so that we can get the maximum points,” he said.

Meanwhile NAPSA Stars coach Sipho Mumbi was not happy with his team’s showing and the long balls played in the second half.

Mumbi felt his midfield did not come to the party while the strike force tried especially in the second half.

“In the first ten minutes we controlled the game and then after that we gave them room to play and they came into the game. I felt like we could have done better than we did in the first half. In the second half we went into panic mode and started playing long balls which is not our type of game,” he said.
