Renard: Signing Sunzu is a plus for Lille as Sto arrives at Lille

Stopilla Sunzu has arrived at Lille ahead of his unveiling tomorrow (Friday).

Sunzu described Lille coach Herve Renard as a father to him.

“This is very good news for me to join a club like Lille,” Sunzu said.

“I’ve known Herve Renard for a long time, his presence was an important element in my decision to commit myself to Lille. He is like a father to me.”

Renard on Sunzu –

Stoppila Sunzu is a very athletic defender, he also has the ability to go fast. This is a player who has many qualities, but can sometimes still lack a bit of maturity. He needs to be steered and that will happen playing with Renato Civelli or Marko Basa.

During the African Nations Cup won with Zambia in 2012, he was our rock. Without him, it would have been difficult to achieve the final victory. His signing is a plus for our team.

  1. There we go. All the best Sunzu; I can assume you’ve come back to Europe for good and I bet you’re not going back to Asia. Zambia’s defence pillar. Thank you Herve Renard for remembering your boys from Zambia, and I hope you can get as many our boys to europe as possible.

  2. It seems Sunzu is really excited about this move (and that’s good), but you wonder why he chose to leave France in the first place. Could it be that our players suffer from inferiority complex when in Europe or what! I have to agree with @ Billy that if possible something can be worked out to ensure that the loan deal turns permanent. Would be good for Zambia’s profile.

      • They have never even watched the Chinese league, you wonder from what perspective they condemn the league.Asamoah Gyan,Robhino, etc including top class coaches have all gone there! They are there not only for the money but because it is a world emerging football league with very good prospects for the future.

        • Are you jealous that Sunzu has gone back to europe? You want him to rot in the chinese league? Be happy that one of our own is back in the top club, Lille, in europe. So don’t blame the bloggers who are happy about Sunzu’s move.

        • @ Amos Mumbi no one is condemning the Chinese league here. The point is you can’t compare their league to the French league. And if you know anything about football you’ll admit that’s the truth.

    • Andre “Dede” Ayew signed for Swansea. So you will be seeing him play in the English EPL this coming season and not in the French ligue 1. His young brother Jordan Ayew will also be playing in the EPL as he signed for Aston Villa. I am sure these Ayew boys will succeed in the EPL as they have a pedigree and have proved it in the ligue 1 and on the world stage.

  3. He has gone to Europe at the right time as he’s 26 and most players peak at the age of 27. Renard would be taking a major gamble if he were to sign Kalaba at age 28.

  4. Nice one renard nd goodluck Sunzu do us proud dnt let us down again. We don’t want 2 hear tht u r movin 2 Jackie Chan united.

  5. this is proof mayuka is finished for those who doubted. herve wud have snapped him up. emmanuel must enjoy his stint in russia. am predicting its his last european stint

  6. @Mumbi: this brother is one decade behind time. Dede has left Sunzu behind. Dede has moved to a better league. Why is Mumbi so ill informed? This is a disgrace. You don’t follow football news but pretend to do so. DO NOT WASH YOUR IGNORANCE IN THE OPEN. Take my advice this time. Any way, missed you for a while. Your compatriot Paradox has been inconsistent as well. We have given you guys a good dose of your own pill. Bring on the discussions

  7. I live this Psycho teaser called Renard. l dont have a doubt Sunzu will perform in Lille but the main test of his childish mentality would be against the top sides in france and a probable europa spot. l feel this dude is got to work his ass off to enable scout consider talents from Zambia cause it is quicker flying to west africa and the talent in the region is flawlessly unquestionable.
