Zambian side Red Arrows have advanced to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup after completing a convincing double over Madagascar’s FC Rouge with a 2-0 victory in the second leg.
The Airmen entered the encounter with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg and showed their quality once again, securing another comfortable win at the Cote D’O National Sports Complex.
Ackim Mumba was the star of the show, scoring twice to put Red Arrows firmly in control.
Mumba opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before completing his brace in the 55th minute, giving the Zambian champions a commanding 4-0 aggregate victory.
Captain Saddam Phiri continued to rally his teammates as Red Arrows managed the game professionally and protected their advantage through the closing stages.
The result sees the Airmen safely through to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Red Arrows will now turn their attention to the highly anticipated encounter, with the Airmen carrying the momentum of a strong continental campaign.
