Record setting Nkana visit Lusaka Tigers

Nkana FC will be looking to make a record 7th consecutive league win since their return to the top flight when they step on to the pitch on Sunday to take on Lusaka Tigers.

Nkana are on their best run of form since the 2008 a season when they managed to put up a 5 match winning streak in one season and they will match that record if they beat Lusaka Tigers who they play at Independence stadium this weekend.

Interesting enough, the Kitwe giants have not lost in the past 6 matches going back to last season when they ended the league on a high with a 3 – 0 and 2 – 0 win over Mufulira Wanderers and Nchanga Rangers respectively a record which has not been matched since their return to the elite league in 2008.

Should Nkana win at Independence stadium, they will match Zanaco’s 7 game winning record which they managed in the 2014 season which has not been matched in the last decade.

In Saturday’s game they face a newly promoted Tigers side which has won both games at home and managed a draw against Green Buffaloes who they share the home venue with.

However, with scoring prowess shown by the Aggrey Chiyangi coached team, Tigers will have to be strong to survive the on-slaught from the Nkana attackers led by attacking midfielder Jacob Ngulube.

  5. Those against the reds will be disappointed ask the so called big teams in England where are they on the log? What more with the quality of kalampa in zed league bcoz it is also a big team. Bembas say “akabangilile kanwine aya lengana” meaning the first to do better, will achieve best results.Zesco will fall this time. No team in Zed league can claim to be bigger than Nkana unless some have started watching Zed league today.tigers is next.. Ingena bayangana!!!go reds go!!!

  6. Am a Zesco Fan but am happy with the way Kalampa have started this season. As to wether they can hold on to their top slot on the log table, that’s a question only Zega THE CHAMPIONS can answer. For now, Nkana fans celebrate as you warm the top slot for ZEGA MAMBO, Wapya Ba Zimandola baleisa!!!!
