PRISON LEOPARDS PLAYERS SALARIES TO BE PAID IN FULL DURING THE CORONAVIRUS INSPIRED FOOTBALL BREAK

Zambia National Division One side, Prison Leopards players have been assured of continued payment of their salaries amidst reports of top European clubs suggesting pay cuts for their players due to the suspension of matches as a result of the Worldwide spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

At least ten of the world’s 12 highest-earning clubs in Europe are negotiating measures to reduce their multimillion-euro player wage bills, according to a report on the Financial Times.

Even the richest teams, concentrated in the sport’s financial stronghold of Europe, have suffered a severe cash crunch due to matches being suspended during the global pandemic however the Zambia Correctional Service sponsored side will continue paying their players’ monthly dues.

According to post on Prison Leopards’ official Facebook page monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, Commissioner General Dr. Chileshe Chisela assured Prison Leopards players that the service will continue giving them their monthly dues during the suspension of the League.

DR. Chisela reaffirmed his command’s position to ensure that both foreign and local players are taken care of.

Germany’s Borussia Dortmund has said its players have waived part of their salaries in a move that will save “a double-digit million” figure in personnel costs, while Bayern Munich players have agreed to a 20 percent pay cut.

Prison Leopards currently lead the FAZ/Eden University national Division One league table with 47 points from 24 games and are on course for promotion to the Super League.
