Power 2-0 F.C MUZA
Newly promoted side Maestro United Zambia were welcomed in the elite MTN Super League with a 2-0 beating at the hands of Powerful Power Dynamos.
MUZA who are playing their topflight football for the first time put up a decent shift on Sunday afternoon at Arthur Davies stadium.
In the first 15 minutes of the game Power Dynamos looked like a team which will run riot over F.C MUZA but the visitors were able to calm their nerves and could not allow the homeside to intimidate them. The Mazabuka based side were growing in confidence and went to the break with the score still level at 0-0.
In the Second half of the match Power Dynamos came breathing fire and it only took a minute when Zimbabwean defender Jimmy Dzingai rose above everyone to connect to a Larry Bwalya corner and send the home crowd into a frenzy.
At this point, the visitors started playing with purpose but could not break the stable Power Dynamos defence.
In the 67th minute Power Dynamos coach substituted striker Kenyan international Elvis Rupia and was replaced by Young Power Dynamos product Martin Kayuwa. Kayuwa only needed seven minutes to announce his arrival on the pitch scoring a second for his side in the 74th minute through a header which came off Dzingai’s cross.
MUZA tried to come back into the match but could not register even a consolation goal as Power dynamos walked away 2-0 winners.
Yes Power won this match, but they were not convincing considering they were playing new guys in the in the league. I guess it is still early days and we can not make early judgements.
My thoughts exactly! no disrespect to MUZA but Power were not convincing at all & going by that performance I feel they will struggle yet again this season
