The FAZ/MTN Super League kicked off yesterday with games played across various stadia in the country. The open day of the league saw a total of Eighteen (18) goals being scored.
The opening week belonged to the home teams, seven home teams managed to beat the visiting teams. The only team that failed to pick maximum points at home was Kabwe Warriors who drew one-all against Lusaka Dynamos.
On the other hand, six games managed to keep clean sheets as the post wins. Five home teams managed to score two or more goals, with Zanaco putting four past Red Arrows while allowing one, at Shinde Stadium, Mufulira Wanderers found the back of the net three times when they came up against Prison Leopards and kept a clean sheet. Another interesting stat to note as of Week One is that two players scored a brace each, Laudit Mavugo of Napsa and Tafadzwa Rusike of Zanaco.
Stream A produced a total of 11 goals on the opening day as Stream B only had 7 goals on the opening day.
