Justin Shonga is a real ball fighter but his finishing in front of goal leaves a lot to be desired. I’m beginning to think he is not an out and out striker. He cant seem to instinctively know what to do when in the box. He is deadly outside of it but when a ball comes to him inside the box he cant wrap his head around what to do. He missed a penalty…ok that happens in football but then after that he missed a total sitter which prompted the fans to call for his substitution which the coach promptly did. He is a really good player if only there can be a training session specifically to get him to score when the ball lands at his feet whilst inside the box. He needs to see how in the box strikers in the mold of Collins Mbesuma or Micheal Owen….players who use instinct when a ball is played to them inside the box.
Can this be juju or there is need upfront. No one can dispute that orando pirates and chipolopolo striker is in scintilating form but his goal scoring parten is something to debate about. In namibia he rose from the bench and he scored an equaliser. Away to garbon he score the lonely that seperate the two teams. On home soil against g bissau the towering defender openened the pressure valve and shonga sealed. In the reverse fixture shonga was the first to open the score sheet in a match which chipolopolo lost. In all these four matches no one scored after shonga. Who can break this? We made it a denstiny to qualify at afcon2019. Our qualification is now hanging by a thread. From my own view there is need upfront if we are to entertain any hopes of qualifying. The technical team should work on their attack. Bringing in another striker will easy the situation. Keep it up justin shonga.
Justin shonga is a complete striker who can scores goals on any good day. Orando pirates its not a complete team. They lack quality in midfield. Brian mwila failed in psl because their was no supply in midfield. He was starved upfront. Those who watch shonga scoring at home after he received a spliting pass from chama will agree with me that shonga is deadly infront of goal. Orando pirates supporters and the technical crew they expect too much from shonga. This was triggered by his scoring form at national team.
Justine Shonga is indeed a deadly striker, its just that luck is it on his side at club level.
He didn’t miss the penalty; it was just saved by the goal keeper. Yes he did miss the second chance to wrap up the game when he shot over the bar, but that happens in football. His time will soon come although the supporters are not helping matters by being too demanding on him. But that is expected.
He has been assisting and contributing to almost each and every goal Pirates have scored. Does he always have to be the scorer?
Keep on working at it Justine. Keep working.
Its good to read and realise that almost all our foreign r
legion are actively involved in games at their clubs. This is healthy for our national team.
With the way we are playing currently we can miss Cameroun 2019. We just have to be there and if we get there too bad for those teams that will be in our group.
