Player Rater: Congo 1-3 Zambia

Zambia beat Congo Brazzaville 3-1 in a friendly on Friday as the Chipolopolo Boys gave coach Aljosa Asanovic his first win since he took over.

Below the ZamFoot Crew takes a look at how the Copper Bullets rated.

Toaster Nsabata -7- He was calm, stable and made a few good saves. Could not be blamed for the penalty.

Lubambo Musonda -6.5- The Vice Captain was more composed in the first half. Showed a few glimpses of his attacking threat.

He was erratic in the first 10 minutes of the second half and struggled thereafter. Showed his versility after he finished the match as a left winger

Rodrick Kabwe -6- Registered an assist for the third goal. Was unfairly adjudged to have fouled Guy Mbenza for the penalty.

Aime Mabika -7- Was beaten for pace in the 5th minute as Mbenza hit the post but recovered well for the rest of the match. His aerial threat might be handy in future.

Aime Mabika was impressive at the back

Frankie Musonda -8- Nonsense defender and ball playing centre back who is not afraid to go in with an occasional tackle.

Marked his debut with a goal. His Professor Dad in Kabwe and the rest of his family will savour this moment.

Lameck Banda -6- Showed his potential. Won the penalty for Zambia.

Enock Mwepu -7.6- As expected, Zambia is safe when the Computer is present. Scored the penalty and provided an assist.

Deployed as a holding midfielder in a 4-4-2. Rested on the hour mark.

Kings Kangwa -8.5- Passport says Kings but in Kanyama they call him Klings! This kid is special. His movement off the ball was a marvel to watch. Interchanged positions with Mwepu well.

Here we go Frankie!

Evans Kangwa -6.4- Not much from the AFCON winner. Tried a few moves but didn’t just didn’t happen. His experience was valuable on the pitch.

Clatous Chama -6- Didn’t light up the show as he usually does in Tanzania. Was a low key performance by his standards. He was involved in the build up for the third with a delicate ball played in Kling’s path.

Gamphani Lungu -6- Worked hard for the team with his high energy pressing. It’s been five years since he played upfront and that was during his days at National Assembly.

Nothing flashy from his performance but he is simply a team player and showed his versatility.

Zambia have only ever lost once to Congo Brazzaville in 13 fixtures played between the two sides.

Substitutes

Emmanuel Banda –6- Replaced Mwepu to steady the ship, and did just that. Calm and composed in the holding role.

Shemmy Mayembe -6.2- Followed up his performance against Iraq with another good shift. Steady and focussed. He is slowly overtaking Benedict Chepeshi as Zambia’s first choice right back.

Prince Mumba -6- Put-in a good 20 minutes shift after he came on for Clatous Chama.

Kelvin Mubanga -6- Played on the right wing with no fuss. Had a better shift against Iraq.

Coach

Aljosa Asanovic -8- Surprise many with the 4-4-2 formation. Encouraged his boys to keep the ball and play without fear.

Rallied his troops to victory with vocal issuing of instructions throughout the afternoon.

Showed his tactical awareness with his switch to a low block as Zambia went to 4-5-1 formation.

Brighton officials will be happy with him for withdrawing Mwepu after the hour mark.
