Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka and his Leicester City teammates have hit the grounding running at their Évian base in France.
Daka is among the seasoned City professionals and young Academy talent that touched down in the French Alps on Monday in advance of a testing week-long training camp.
According to the club website, City have a five day schedule that will see City’s stars lay further foundations ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Many have been at work since 27 June, now into their third week of training, while others are fresh to the group after extended breaks due to international involvement.
City have returned to Évian-les-Bains for the first time since 2019, and the club is now participating in their first pre-season abroad since then.
The blistering French sun creates a tough environment for physical activity with some days forecasted to reach 33 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the first full day in the Rhones-Alps region, Brendan Rodgers’ men participated in their first double training session, put to work immediately on the shoreline of Lake Geneva as the countdown to City’s 2022/23 Premier League opener against Brentford draws closer.
Over the next three days, their work will gather pace, in preparation for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against OH Leuven at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion (1pm kick-off) – the Foxes’ second outing this summer.
Daka provided an assist for Harvey Barnes’ goal in the 2-1 loss to Notts County last weekend.
The Zambian international scored eleven goals and made four assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes last season and will be looking to better that this coming season.
