ZESCO United have strengthened their squad with eight new signings ahead of the 2026 Transition League, including former Young Africans forward Kennedy Musonda and Cameroon international Brice Sindjo.
Musonda returns to the Zambia Super League after a successful spell with Tanzanian giants Young Africans, where he scored 32 goals and helped the club win three Tanzanian Premier League titles, three domestic cups and two Community Shields.
The 30-year-old also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup, reaching the final, and has scored four goals for Zambia in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
ZESCO have also added Cameroonian forward Sindjo from Colombe Sportive. The striker scored nine goals and provided two assists in 10 appearances last season.
The Ndola-based club have further reinforced their defence and attack with the arrivals of Happy Nsiku and Antony Shipanuka from Red Arrows.
Nsiku was part of Zambia’s squad at the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), while Shipanuka brings international experience from the CECAFA Cup.
Goalkeeping options have been strengthened by the signing of Patrick Chooma from Leopards FC, while Chadian midfielder Yves Allarabaye joins from Foullah Edifice.
Allarabaye, who made his Chad debut on 29 March 2022, has earned 22 international caps and has featured in both Africa Cup of Nations and 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns.
ZESCO have also completed the signings of Gilbert Tetani from Mufulira Wanderers and John Mulenga from Green Buffaloes, with Mulenga having previously featured for Young Green Buffaloes.
The influx of new players comes as ZESCO prepare for the Transition League, which will precede the restructuring of Zambia’s top-flight football.
The club will be hoping the experience of Musonda and Allarabaye, combined with the attacking options provided by Sindjo and Shipanuka, can help them mount a strong campaign.
ZESCO United welcomed all eight players to the club, describing them as additions to the “Zega family”.
