Paper Talk: FAZ threatens ‘Big Spending’ Lusaka Dynamos with ‘expulsion over clearance of players and coaches’ dues

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has threatened Super Division side Lusaka Dynamos that the club will not play in the Premier League this year if it does not meet certain club licensing requirements.

According to a letter that was written by FAZ head of administration Andrew Siame to Lusaka Dynamos secretary on January 25 this year, the association warned that it will not issue a Club License from the
Confederation of African Football (CAF) if the club will not meet certain financial obligations.

However, the FAZ observed that Lusaka Dynamos have made good progress
on certain requirements but noted that the club was found wanting on some requirements such as financial issues of the club, clearance of players’ dues and clearance of coaches’ dues.

Siame gave Lusaka Dynamos January 31, 2018 as deadline to clear the outstanding dues to the players and the coaches failure to which they will not be allowed to play in the Premier League.

“We further wish to remind the club that this matter if not attended to will affect the club.

The association has observed that your club
has made good progress on certain requirements on club licensing but we wish to inform you that the Football Association of Zambia is not satisfied with the progress on the following:
(a) Financial issues of the club
(b) Clearance of players’ dues
(c) Clearance of coaches’ due,” the letter read in part.

“We wish to remind you and emphasise that failure to clear these three
outstanding issues, your club will not be issued with a club license from CAF. We request you to look at this matter urgently.

“In view of the aforesaid, we wish to inform you that these matters be cleared by January 31, 2018 and failure to adhere to this deadline,
the association will follow the CAF Rules on Club Licensing and your club will not be allowed to play in the Premier League,” it added.

Last year, Lusaka Dynamos were ranked among the big spending clubs in the league as they signed on a number of local and foreign players.
