Official: Fashion Sakala Jnr completes Rangers switch

Zambia National team winger Fashion Sakala Jnr has completed his switch to Scottish giants Rangers FC, the club has announced.

Sakala has penned a four-year deal to complete his summer move to Ibrox as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew

“RANGERS are today delighted to announce that a pre-contract has been agreed with Fashion Sakala, and he will join from Belgian side KV Oostende in the summer-subject to international clearance and a work permit is received.

The Zambian international attacking player joins the Light Blues on a four-year deal, with the club already well-underway in their planning for the 21/22 season.”

Sakala will join Steven Gerrard’s side on 1st July as a free agent after he runs down his contract at Oostende where he has five Belgian Jupiler Pro League playoff II games before his time with the KustBoys comes to an end.

The 24 years-old has netted 13 times and assisted 3 times for the Belgian top-flight club in their impressive season in the Belgian top-flight which has seen them enter the UEFA Europa League qualification phase in Belgium. Sakala follows in the footsteps of Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi who also made the same journey to Ibrox from the Jupiler Pro League.

Sakala started his career in Chipata before making a switch to Nchanga Rangers and later Sensational Zanaco. He then moved to Russia in 2017 to play for Spartak Moscow where he mostly featured for their junior side, Spartak Moscow II before making a switch to KV Oostende in 2018.
