Zambia B head coach Numba Mumamba has revealed that he will reinforce his squad ahead of the COSAFA Championship.
This follows the COSAFA bound squad’s two heavy losses on their North African tour.
Numba’s side suffered a 3-0 loss to Kuwait before being humiliated 3-1 by Morocco’s U-23 National Team who are preparing for CAF U23 African Cup of Nations.
The Kabwe Warriors gaffer says the team has picked lessons from the two friendly matches.
He has admitted that his team made mistakes especially in defence hence his decision to beef up the squad with Fringe players from Avram Grant’s AFCON squad.
“I think it has been a learning curve for the team and the young boys,” the former Zesco United coach said
“These two games have given us a good picture of where we are in readiness to compete at the COSAFA Championship,” he said.
“We have not done well defensively and made some mistakes that resulted in us conceding the three goals. We still have a lot of work to do to shape up the team for COSAFA.
“I think there is some immaturity in some players. I think that’s why we need to bring some experienced players to help us to defend the COSAFA.
“We won’t get everyone, we just need to have a core of the team which will be the backbone and blend with the young players.
“We never expected to lose both games, we are disappointed but that’s football, we have learned lessons. We just have to go back to work and improve so that we can perform better in the COSAFA,” he added.
Numba is expected to add the likes of Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Vincent Chabu of Nchanga Rangers, Dominic Chanda, Pride Mwansa, Benedict Chepeshi, and Mufulira Wanderers’ Patson Kwataime.
The COSAFA Cup will be hosted in the South African coastal city of Durban from July 5-16.
Zambia will kick off their title defence against Malawi on 6th July at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Zambia’s second Group B match will be against Comoros on 9th July at the same venue before concluding their matches against Seychelles on July 11th at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

He’s been learning lessons from one loss to the other. Zambian coaches, very poor at everything. Poor selection from under 17,20 and now Zambia B. My question is; does Faz see all these useless mistakes by our local coaches???
It’s an ATM for local coaches. They will be exchanging like that. Mumamba hasn’t been performing well as a Coach, what criteria was used to pick him.
He is no good coach,he needs miraculous improvement
