The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) division one northern enters week 12 this weekend, with some mouth-watering fixtures in the offing.
Will Malalo Police maintain the first spot? or Will Abercorn record their first win? Those are some of the big questions 90 minutes of football action is expected to answer this afternoon.
1.ST. LUKE Vs KATESHI COFFE
St Luke recorded their first win of the season last weekend moving them to seventh place on the table, this weekend they host Kateshi who are a place behind them.
Only goal difference separates the two teams with both teams having won 1 drawn 2 and have 5 points each. It is surely a tough game to call this one.
2.CHISHIMBA GREEN EAGLES Vs ABERCORN
Chishimba Green Eagles are yet to record a win this season and this weekend they host Abercorn who are also without a win.
Chishimba is 14th on the table after 2 draws and 1 loss with 2 points. They are hoping to start picking up maximum points this weekend. Their opponents, Abercorn are bottom of the table they have conceded 13 goals and lost all 3 games this is the worst start for any team but can they pick up their first point (s) today and maybe move from the bottom of the table?
3.MPOROKOSO UNITED VS ZESCO CHIEFS.
Second-placed Mporokoso United will play host to rejuvenated Zesco Chiefs. Zesco Chiefs recorded their first win last week over Mpaji and will be hoping to pick up from where they ended last week but Mporokoso is no easy hunting ground for any team in Northern Province.
4.MALALO POLICE VS MPANDE
On song league leaders Malalo Police will this afternoon host Mpande Youth at Kasama Sports Stadium. Malalo will be banking on their current form to maintain the top spot and increase the points difference.
Mpande has had a bad start losing two and drawing one and are second from the bottom. Games between the two teams are known to produce a lot of drama and sparks, This is our game of the Weekend.
5.MPAJI VS KASAMA UNITED
Mpaji is yet to gain momentum but they will need to pull up their socks this afternoon when they host Kasama United.
United had a poor start but they are slowly picking up. United’s morale is high after their 2-1 win over Ndeke. Mpaji will have to put their 1-0 loss at Zesco behind them and focus on this weekend encounter if they want to finish in a good place at the end of the season.
6.MPULUNGU UNITED VS MPOROKOSO FLYING EAGLES
Fourth-placed Mpulungu host Mporokoso flying Eagles in another epic Northern Province clash. Mpulungu united who are coming from an away win will hope to replicate that at home and increase their point tally.
Mporokoso is coming from two goalless draws and this is the best time they put on their scoring boots and get a win.
7.MUNGWI HOTSPURS VS ZAM UNITED
As week 12 is heating Mungwi Hotspurs will host Zam United at the famous Martin Mwamba Ground. Zam United is on the verge of joining the relegation zone after recording their second loss against Mporokoso United leaving them with just a point after three matches.
Besides, Mungwi Hotspurs last weekend moved to 6th position after beating Abercon Breweries by 5 goals to one earning them 3 points in their bag, and will be looking for more of the same this afternoon.
8.NDEKE VS CHINTELELWE
Zambia Airforce sponsored outfit Ndeke FC will this afternoon host Chintelelwe at Mbala ZAF ground.
Ndeke FC has maintained their 3rd position even after suffering their first loss of the season in week 11 action which ended two goals to one in favor of Kasama United.
While Chintelelwe is somewhere below in 15th place grabbing just one point after playing three games.
Ndeke is the favorite to carry maximum points but Chintelelwe know that they need to start picking up points hence it won’t be easy.
9.TAZARA BLUE STARS VS LWANSASE
Tazara Blue Stars have shown consistency and this weekend they are hosting Lwansase FC from Luwingu.
Tazara has played 3 games, recorded one win with 2 draws sending them to the 9th position with 5 points while Lwansase Fc is in the 13th position with just 2 points.
Lwansase had a humiliating 3-1 defeat at home last weekend but they have been good away from this season hence you can’t rule them off.
