Defending, Superleague Champions, Nkana cruised to a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Indeni football club to win the 2020/2021 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield.
Nkana came into the match as favorites with Indeni looking to force an upset as they were high on morale after winning the Big six Pre-season tournament ahead of Forest Rangers, Napsa Stars, Zanaco, Green Buffaloes, and Green Eagles.
Idriss Ilunga Mbombo put Nkana in the lead in the 21st minute after being set up by young midfielder Patrick Gondwe. Mbombo was again on hand to net his second of the match with an acrobatic effort from a rebound after goalkeeper Charles Lawu failed to deal with a Gondwe shot.
In the second half, Nkana could have added a third but in the end, it was a 2-0 win for the Wusakile based outfit.
